A mile north of the center of town, the Haddon Lake Park is a great place to spend the day with Fido and the family. You and your pooch can walk around the large lake or sit on the banks and go fishing. There are picnic benches throughout the park where you can enjoy lunch and a bottle of water, and the kids will have a great time on the playground. Pooch parents are often out walking their furry family members, so your pup will get a chance to socialize with his friends. Just remember to bring your own doggie waste bags and help keep the park clean.

Haddonfield

Nearby in the town of Haddenfield, stop by The Bistro at Haddonfield where you will enjoy tasty breakfast food while relaxing with your pup at the outdoor seating. Then walk over to Mountwell Park just a few minutes away. The park features a wonderful playground and plenty of space to walk your pup. When the family needs some exercise, take a walk along the paved walkway while your pooch sniffs the plants and rolls in the grass. After Fido tires himself out, let the kids play on the playground where they will enjoy both the structures and a fun sandbox. Before heading out, give your pup a few more minutes chasing a ball in the field and having a furtastic time.

Haddon

Ten minutes north of Mount Ephraim, Newton Lake Park in Haddon is a great destination for a walk or run with your pup. There are well-maintained walking trails where you and your pooch can admire the wildlife and Fido can sniff the plants and trees. You will want to keep your pup on a leash – there are lots of geese roaming the area! After a long walk, relax on one of the benches and sip some cool water. On the way home, plan to stop by the Bread Board Plus restaurant. You can order soup and sandwiches and sit on the outdoor patio. If you want to take your pooch out for dinner, the Taproom and Grill offers plenty of pooch-friendly seating on the porch where you can enjoy a drink and burger.

Central Collingswood

About four miles north of town, Knight Park in Collingswood offers 70-acres of space for you and your pooch to play. The park features a walking path where you and Fido can get some exercise, and a playground for the kids. You can plan a picnic with friends and their furry family members, and BBQ some burgers near the picnic area. The open field is great for a game of frisbee with the pup, and there are clean restrooms and a fountain where you can refill water bottles. Close to the park, you will find the Sweet Freedom Bakery where you can pick up some muffins and a treat for your pooch. If you need your morning coffee, Grooveground is a great place to hang out before heading to the park with Fido.

Northern Blackwood

Just five miles south of Mount Ephraim, your pooch will have a great time at the Timber Creek Off-leash Dog Park in Blackwood. Covering 9 acres of fenced area inside the 60-acre Timber Creek Park, this dog park lets your pooch run around and roll in the grass while he socializes with his furry friends unleashed. While the pups play, relax on a bench and chat with neighbors. Be sure to bring your own doggie waste bags and clean up after your pooch. There are water bowls available in the dog park, but you will need to bring your own water bottles. After Fido has had his fill of the park, snap on a leash and go for a walk through the wooded trails and around the lake in the larger park. Fido can get his feet wet and splash in the water before heading home.
