Lower East Patchogue
The Mud Creek Dog Park in East Patchogue is a pup-tastic dog beach, where your energetic little friend can run off-leash to his heart’s content. The waterbabies will especially love this place, where they can dip their paws into the fresh ocean or head out for a swim. Just four miles east of Bellport, this place is popular and well worth seeking out! The downside here is that there are only natural barriers of dunes and the water, so make sure your pup can stay under voice control. You will also need to ensure you bring waste bags and water here, as there aren’t any facilities provided.36

Patchogue
Patchogue is just 4.5 miles east of Bellport, and features a host of pet-friendly places to dine. For a good meal and cold drink, head to BrickHouse Brewery and Restaurant, or The Oar Steak and Seafood Grill. The South Ocean Grill is another great place to check out, with a similar variety of pub-style meals in a casual, but trendy setting. For a sweet treat, you can’t go past Ralph's Famous Italian Ices, with over one hundred and fifty flavors to choose from, you might have to visit twice! All of these places allow pets at their outdoor seating areas. For something a little different, Blue Point love pets and allow dogs not only outside, but inside the tasting room too! After your meal, head down to Shorefront Park for a walk along the paved track or play on the grass.24

Bay Shore
The Otis Pike Fire Island High Dune Wilderness on Fire Island is a pristine natural habitat, and the only federally designated wilderness in New York. It is a beautiful spot to visit, but is only accessible to dogs during the off season from Labor Day to March 15. If you are visiting during this time, take the day to explore the beaches and let your pup enjoy frolicking in the waves and having a good run along the sand. There is a seven mile trail here which becomes a loop if you make use of the pet-friendly ferry. Otherwise, keep track of how far you travel, as you will have to walk back. Bring everything you need here, as the shops are on the other side of Fire Island – water, food and clean up bags are a must.12

Brookhaven
The Robinson Duck Farm Dog Park in Brookhaven is a large, open space where your pet will have a ball running around off-lead. The 2.6-acre park is double-gated and has two play areas, one for larger breeds and one for smaller dogs, with four-foot high fences surrounding the area. Keep an eye on your pup due to the relatively low fence, and ensure he will return on command if required. The park is located within a multi-acre field, where you can continue on for a walk once your pup is ready to go back on the lead. There aren’t any amenities here, so bring water and a drinking bowl for pup and waste disposal bags too.
