Patchogue is a village in the town of Brookhaven, located on Long Island’s South Shore. Adjacent to the Great South Bay, Patchogue lies just an hour from Manhattan. Since 1893, this community has benefited from riverfront and harbor industries, and now offers its residents a small, yet modern community to be proud of. Patchogue is dog-friendly throughout, and there are five veterinary clinics, including a designated surgery center, ready to take care of all your pup’s health care needs.

For outdoor fun, the Fire Island National Seashore offers 9 hiking trails and 8 designated walking trails. They range in length from the short .2-mile trail, perfect for smaller and elderly dogs, to the 14-mile jaunt for those pups with exceptional pup-abilities. Dogs are also allowed on the beaches from after Labor Day until March 14th. Pups must remain on leash only, so plan accordingly. The Fire Island Wilderness area lies within the National Seashore and offers camping and fishing as well.

When you both get hungry, head to Public House 49 and the Brick House Brewery and Restaurant which are both dog-friendly and offer outdoor seating.

Make Patchogue your next stop with your fur-ever friend.
