Lower East Patchogue
The Lower East Patchogue neighborhood of Patchogue, is home to the Mud Creek Dog Park. This is a premier dog beach which allows pups to splash and play in the water and dig their paws into the sand. What could a dog want more on a hot summer day? It is a good idea to bring plenty of fresh water for Fido to drink, and mutt mitts to keep this beach pristine And why not pack a picnic lunch to enjoy with your fur-ever friend on a beach blanket? This area has no fencing, so be sure Fido comes when called.

South Shirley
Visit the Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge, in the South Shirley neighborhood, in the town of Shirley, just east of Patchogue. This 2,550-acre refuge along the Carmans River offers a beautiful place to take your pup for a great day’s outing. You can wander throughout the area in the open spaces or along the designated walking trails. Dogs are welcome on leash. There are wonderful spots to share a picnic lunch with Fido and a visitor’s center on site which offers water and restrooms. Be sure to pack binoculars and a camera to remember this pawtastic day with your best pup!

Lower Medford
The Lower Medford neighborhood in the town of Medford, New York, just north of Patchogue, is home to the Twelve Pines Park. This small park has something for every sports enthusiast with its multiple sports courts. There is also a playground on-site for the kiddies. If you want some more outdoor fun, head over to Peppermint Park! This park is newly renovated and perfect for a stroll or some relaxation time with your pawtastic pup. There is a library in the park with benches around to read your favorite book. No restrooms are available here, so be sure to plan accordingly.12
Blue Point
The Blue Point Nature Preserve in the town of Blue Point, New York, lies to the southwest of Patchogue, and is a small park dedicated to connecting people and wildlife. There are very nice walking trails within, perfect for any pup-ability. Take a stroll and enjoy the fresh air with your fur-ever friend. A small butterfly garden on-site is a great place to stop for some pictures. Be sure to pack water and clean up bags and keep Fifi on leash. Afterwards, head to Flo’s Famous Luncheonette to enjoy a wrap and a shake on their outdoor, pet-friendly patio.
South Ocean Avenue
Ready for an outing with your fur-ever friend? In the South Ocean Avenue neighborhood of Patchogue, you will find Shorefront Park. Lying along the Patchogue Bay, this park offers puptastic hiking trails along the waterfront and lots of open space for some relaxation time near water’s edge. There is also has a huge playground for the kiddies. Or try Four Sisters Park. Although small, this park offers sports courts, pickleball courts, and places to relax. Are you hungry yet? Head to the South Ocean Grill or Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices for some dog-friendly dining at their outdoor patio tables.
