North Avenue
This Springfield neighborhood is home to Crowell Park, a 13-acre park where dogs are welcome on-leash. This park has a variety of sports fields and a natural environmental area that’s filled with trees and open fields. You can walk your dog on the flat, paved paths found throughout the park, or you can take them for strolls on the park’s numerous meadows. Bring your dog some water, and have fun strolling through this park. Afterwards, grab lunch with your dog at nearby Miller’s Ale House. This casual restaurant serves classic all-American fare, like wings, burgers, and steaks. Enjoy your delicious meal at one of Miller’s Ale House’s six dog-friendly tables.

For another great on-leash walk with your dog, head over to Spring Valley Park. This 5.4-acre park has a lovely natural environmental area. Take a leisurely stroll with your dog, and enjoy the peaceful woodlands in this park. If you’re hungry after your walk, there are a few dog-friendly eateries in this neighborhood. For tasty sandwiches, soups, and salads, head over to Panera Bread. This café has three dog-friendly outdoor tables. Or, if you’re just in the mood for something sweet, check out Cold Stone Creamery. This ice cream shop has dog-friendly outdoor tables, and they serve delicious ice creams, sorbets, and yogurts.

Chews Landing Road
Chews Landing Road is home to the popular Timber Creek Dog Park. This off-leash area is located within the 60-acre Timber Creek Park, and it’s about 22 miles from Springfield. The dog park features a nine-acre wooded area where dogs can play and make new friends. There’s also a small lake where dogs can swim, and there are trails where dogs can walk off-leash. If your dog gets thirsty, there are water bowls available. After the dog park, put your pup back on their leash and take them on one of Timber Creek Park’s many other beautiful nature trails.

Fishtown
For another furiffic dog park, head over to Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood and check out the Triangle Dog Park. This dog park is about 16 miles from Springfield, and it has one large space where dogs can run around and play catch or Frisbee. There are also trees that keep the park shady and cool on hot days. There’s no water available in the park, so be sure to bring your pup a bottle or two. If you’re hungry after playing at the park, grab a snack or lunch with your dog at Johnny Brenda’s, a casual pub that serves seasonal, locally sourced dishes. This pub welcomes dogs at their outdoor tables, and they’ll happily bring your pup a bowl of water.

East Falls
If you want to go on a long hike with your dog, check out Fairmount Park. This huge 2,054-acre park welcomes dogs on-leash, and it has stunning lakes, a Japanese-style garden, long trails that provide views of the Schuylkill River, and more. You and your pup will have a great time exploring this unique park. After the park, continue your day out with lunch at Trolley Café. This café serves healthy and delicious dishes, and many are made using ingredients from their on-site garden. Dogs are welcome on the café’s scenic patio, and there’s a doggy menu available for your pup.
