Steeplechase
If you live in Anderson and need a special space for you and your pup to spend some quality time together, then visit College Station. If you travel by car via TX-90 South and Highway 6 North, it’ll take about half an hour. Steeplechase is a remote neighborhood in southwestern part of College Station offering beautiful wooded views and a fully fenced, off-leash dog park. The Steeplechase Park stretches along West Ridge Drive with a nice location, providing dog owners with a spacious area for training pups, and enjoying a great day out. The location also includes a children’s playground as well as a creek for pups who like bathing and playing in the water. Make sure you pack a towel -- no one likes the smell of wet dog! Even though this is an off-leash park, make sure that your pup is always under your control.

University Park
University Drive East is the main drag of the University Park neighborhood in College Station. Buzzing with people and traffic, this neighborhood offers a range of dining and shopping facilities for locals and visitors. University Park Dog Park will be happy to welcome you and your furry bud in its off-leash and fenced area, offering you a choice of two separate spots for large and small dogs. The park is enormous, so it doesn’t matter whether you have a pug or a mastiff! Pups of all sizes, shapes, and tempers are welcome to play, have fun and socialize with each other. The park also contains amenities for owners including benches all over the park, lots of shade, a water fountain, and a dog wash area. These may come in handy for those brave canine sailors who prefer swimming in the ponds located on both sides of the park. No wonder this site is well-known and loved among dog owners! Did all that play make you and Fido hungry? Grab some dinner at Grub Burger Bar on 980 University Drive! The staff loves pups, and offers a bowl of water for every furry visitor.

Tiffany Park
Dog Park at Morris “Buzz” Hamilton Park is located at the intersection of several neighborhoods in West Bryan, close to the Tiffany Park neighborhood and off Park Hudson Trail. Even though the place is remote from the city, the infrastructure in the neighborhood is well-developed. The park provides visitors with three separate play areas for dogs all sizes and shapes: two spots for large dogs and one site for small pups. There are also gravel walking trails to explore, doggy water fountains, shade, and sitting areas. A convenient notice for the late visitors: this park remains well-lit until 10 p.m. And if you care for a late dinner with your pup at your side, Christopher’s World Grill is right across the street, and is happy to welcome your buddy at the outdoor tables.

Pine Hill
The nice city of Huntsville is located 70 miles north of Houston, between Houston and Dallas and less than 40 miles from Anderson. The place has several amenities for dogs and their owners, such as Pineview Dog Park. The place may be not very impressive in terms of size, but it’s happy to provide you with a fully fenced area for off-leash training as well as drinking fountains for dogs and humans! The park is well-known as a clean and quiet retreat for those pooches who may be intimidated by crowded parks and too many other pups barking and running around. If your pup is shy or timid, this park is the pawfect place for you to bond and spend some quality time playing together. You can also take your pup to play at the Magnolia Kennels Dog Park. This is a boarding facility, but your fur-iend is welcome to run around and explore the place for an admission fee.

City Center
The city center of Huntsville is a must-see because of the Eastham-Thomason Park, located not far from Samuel Walker Houston Center. This is a very pawpular park among the locals, providing you with a huge area for pups to exercise and play. This place is especially good for those who like socializing and finding new friends, since the place usually is buzzing with four-legged visitors. There’s plenty of shade, sitting and recreation areas, as well as a water fountain and walking trails to explore. Owners are also provided with a hose and a water bowl at the entrance to clean and freshen up your bud’s fur after an awesome day out. Since this is a city center, there are many places to have lunch or dinner, but the dog-friendly Eclectic Coffeehouse Studio and Gallery will welcome your pup on outdoor seating. This is the pawfect place to share a sandwich or pizza and enjoy the atmosphere of the city center.
