“Dogs are my passion!”

I’ve been training dogs for over 40 years, and volunteered at my local dog clubs to teach others to train their dogs. Currently I train my dog in agility, and have achieved several titles on dogs I’ve owned competing in dog sports. I have 17 years experience pet sitting. I also foster dogs for MCAS and Operation Pets Alive.

Hello! My name is Ben, and I've been a dog owner and lover my entire life! While I'm new to Wag!, I've been walking dogs professionally for the past 25 years, and love the shared adventure and fitness activity of a good walk! Having both a high energy Jack Russel Terrier and a large breed Great Dane myself, along with decades of professional experience walking almost every size and type of dog there is, I've learned how to handle just about every possible scenario that might occur when on a walk. I've also extensively studied canine psychology and behavior, and find it extremely useful when out and about on a walk, both in avoiding situations and reinforcing good leash/walk habits. I know that a dog's walk is, other than when their people come home, the best part of their day, and I strive to make it a fulfilling and enjoyable one! On a dog's walk, it's not only important to make sure a dog gets his or her exercise and potty needs met, but it's also important to make sure the dog gets to enjoy himself! I try to make sure that we have plenty of sniff-stops, pleasant walker/dog interactions, and interesting things to see! I can maintain any pace necessary, and have developed a good "feel" for each dog's necessary walking speed at heel. I like to encourage and praise proper walking techniques, to make sure your fur babies maintain their good leash habits!

“Doing it for the sits and wiggles!”

Dogs are life’s angels on four legs that give so much more than they need from life. They need attention, walks, ball chasing time, grass sniffing time and belly rubs. It’s these actions that enrich both humans and fur babies. I no longer have my fur baby and would greatly enjoy spending time with the utmost care and attention to each four legged personality.

Dog Walking in New Caney

New Caney is a large Texan community of more than 20,000 people, and it's a suburb of northern Houston. When it began, New Caney was an agricultural town, and then gradually became known for its timber products. Today, it is a popular place to live for people who work in Houston but want to return to a smaller town at night and enjoy the charm of the community. There are veterinary clinics in New Caney, and while there isn't an off-leash dog park right in town, there are plenty of other dog-friendly amenities nearby.

Alexander Deussen is a large park half an hour away from New Caney, in northeast Houston. This large community park has all sorts of activities for the family to enjoy, including playgrounds and sports fields. There is also a large dog park in Alexander Deussen with separate big and small dog sections. The Alexander Deussen Dog Park has a great reputation for being clean and well-maintained and for being frequented by friendly and responsible visitors. There are a few agility courses in the dog park, as well as a rinsing-off station for messy pups, drinking water, seating, and shade. Exploring the dog-friendly activities around New Caney with your dog will be so much fun!
