The town of Rustburg includes single-family homes, three public schools, county government buildings, and commercial buildings. This rural community has peaceful country roads where you and your furry pal can get some exercise. If you're looking for a nice park where you and Fido can share a walk and outdoor meal together, head to the Abbott-Duncan Recreation Fields on Village Highway. This complex has athletic fields, a picnic area, and trails. Catch a ball game or play fetch with your canine companion here. Dogs are allowed in the park as long as they're on a leash and you pick up their droppings.

Whetstone Hills

Whetstone Hills in Lynchburg is about 10.2 miles north of town. This residential area includes single-family homes, a few small businesses, and a country club. Walk around the block with Spot for some daily exercise. If you're looking for open space where you can play fetch with your pooch, head to Timbrook Park off Leesville Road. This facility includes athletic fields, a playground, a fishing pond, hiking trails, and picnic facilities. Enjoy playtime with your fur baby and have a meal together at one of the tables. Dogs can join you here if they're on a leash. Remember to clean up after your pup.

Sandusky

The neighborhood of Sandusky in Lynchburg is about 12.2 miles from Rustburg. You'll find single-family homes, an elementary school, and a middle school here. Visit Historic Sandusky in the center of this community to take a walk back in time. You can take your special pal to Sandusky Park to stretch your legs and get some exercise. Hike along Blackwater Creek and explore the woods with your fur baby as you follow the paved pathway in this 21 acre facility. Take a break at one of the benches or picnic tables here. Dogs on a leash are welcome as long as you pick up their waste.

Fairview Heights

In the neighborhood of Fairview Heights, located about nine miles north of Rustburg, you'll find some commercial buildings and single-family homes. Take a stroll down the road with your four-footed friend to stretch your legs. There's a nice little facility in the center of the neighborhood. Check out Younger Park with Spot to enjoy a little green space. There are open fields, a playground,  and a basketball court here. Bring a ball and play some fetch or work on obedience drills in the grass. Enjoy a snack at the picnic table with your canine pal. Keep your pooch on a leash and clean up any droppings.

White Rock Hill

Located 10.3 miles north of Rustburg, the neighborhood of White Rock Hill in Lynchburg includes single-family homes, a cemetery, and a few churches. Learn a little bit of Lynchburg history at Guggenheimer Memorial Park located nearby. If you're looking for a spot to go exploring with your four-footed pal, head to Percival's Island Natural Area on the James River. Follow the Riverwalk Trail across the island and enjoy area wildlife with your canine companion. You can also follow the paved pathway northwest toward historic downtown Lynchburg. Make sure you keep your pooch on a leash and under control. Bring water and waste bags with you.
