Just a 27-mile car ride from East Saint Louis will land you at one of the best parks in the area. Joe Glik Park has something for every member of the family. There is a designated, fenced in area for your mini humans to go and play. Fido has his very own fenced in area where he can play with his fur buddies without being attached to a leash. There are walking trails that you can enjoy with your canine companions -- who must be on a leash, of course. You don’t need a membership to enjoy all the pawesome benefits of this park!

O'Fallon

It is only 19 miles to O'Fallon Dog Park which is located inside Rock Springs Park. This is a full acre and a half of fenced-in area to run and play. There is an agility course to allow Fido to show off his skills. It is the pawfect place to have a doggie bark day party! Please be aware that there are no watering stations available here, so you will need to bring some water for yourself and Fido. This is one fenced-in area for all dogs to play together, so your darling dog is sure to make a new fur friend or two.

St. Louis

Grab a leash, hop in the car, and head to Laumeier Sculpture Park. You’ll get there in less than 10 minutes. This park is 105 acres of large-scale outdoor sculptures for you and your dog to enjoy. The park is open all year long and requires no entrance fee. All you need is your dog and his leash! If you get tired of the sculptures or the crowd, then you could walk the wooded trails. Don’t forget to check the event calendar to see if there are any Fido-friendly events are going on. There is no better way to combine culture and the great outdoors.

Saint Louis University

Saint Louis University is only about 10 minutes from East Saint Louis, IL. They have a sculpture park that allows you to come and wander through the sculptures at your own pace with your pup. There is a fenced-in area for Fido to run and play freely. It is a great place for bigger dogs to play safely, but little pups may be able to squeeze through the large spacing on the bars, so you may want to keep a close eye on your pup. There are several events throughout the year, so check the bulletin board frequently.

Anheuser- Busch Area

The Filling Station is placed within the Anheuser-Busch area of the neighborhood, just under 15 minutes from East Saint Louis. It is a lively and exciting place to join your dog. The outdoor patio is recommended for fur families because of the live music and dancing that might get his tail stepped on inside. Of course, there are still things to do outside. You can catch a game of darts, enjoy some people-watching, or just relax and listen to the music. All the new sights and smells will keep your pawesome pal entertained as you wait for your order to arrive.
