Swansea
Swansea is 8 miles east of Imbs. This small Illinois town has a few shops and interesting things to do. Swansea is home to the Swansea Dog Park located at 1500 Caseyville Avenue. This is a very small dog park. Residents and non residents of Swansea may purchase a permit to use this dog park. Dogs can run and socialize in this fenced, off-leash dog park. The surface is grassy, and water is available. The Melvin Price Memorial Park also has walking paths, a playground, picnic areas, and a shelter. Zapata’s Mexican Restaurant located at 2615 North Illinois Street serves lunch and dinner in dog-friendly outdoor tables.

Edwardsville
Edwardsville is 29 miles north of Imbs. Joe Glik Dog Park is located at 710 E. Lake Drive. This off-leash dog park is pretty small, but it has enough room for dogs to socialize and get some exercise. The dog park has water and a few benches. The rest of the park has shaded walkways for on leash exercise. The park also has several areas in which to picnic. The dog park supplies waste bags, and there is no fee for use of the dog park. 1818 Chophouse, located at 210 S. Buchanan Street, is open for lunch and dinner (and breakfast on Sunday) and has 30 outdoor tables for dog-friendly dining. This restaurant serves up steak along with other delicacies that will thrill the carnivore in you.

O'Fallon
O’Fallon is 18 miles east of Imbs. O’Fallon Dog Park located at 1428 East Third Street has 1.5 acres of fenced fun for dogs of all breeds and sizes. It is a single fenced area. There are some benches, and the park itself has picnic areas and on leash walking trails. The dog park has a few pieces of agility equipment, and the dog park keeps a supply of waste bags stocked. Global Brew O’Fallon, located at 455 Regency Park, has hundreds of types of beer served at outdoor tables. Cheese and sausage and some casual eats make Global Brew a fine location to stop and sit awhile after a romp at the dog park.

Belleville
Belleville is 10 miles east from Imbs. Belleville is a mid-size Illinois town with shopping and restaurants. It also is home to three dog parks: 1. Rotary Dog Park, 2.Stookey Township Park, and 3. Shiloh Dog Park. Rotary Park is located at 110 N. 6th Street. It has a separate fenced enclosure for small dogs. A fee is required to use this dog park. Stookey Township is located at 100 Arlington Drive. It is a fenced and grassy area for large and small dogs. Shiloh Dog Park is located at 3756 Lebanon Avenue. It has a separate enclosure for small dogs.
Waterloo
Waterloo is 16 miles south of Imbs. Lakeview Park Dog Park is located at 316 N. Library Street. Lakeview opened its dog park in 2016. It has two fenced areas for off leash exercise and socialization. A separate area is set aside for small dogs. Water is available on-site, and Lakeview Park is a large recreational area with numerous scenic places to walk on leash with your pup. Dreamland Palace at Foster Pond serves German fare in outdoor dog-friendly tables. JV’s Bar and Grill, located at 117 North Main Street, serves cold beer, sandwiches, and other staples for lunch and dinner in its outdoor dog-friendly tables.
