Dog Areas in Arcola

Arcola is a small town located inside of the May Township of Washington County in Minnesota. First settled in 1847, this quaint spot is a dogstatic place to bring your pup for a weekend visit, or a fun stop along the way to your next adventure. Located inside of Arcola are two veterinary hospitals that cater to any and all of your pup’s health care needs.

If your dog loves water, then be sure to walk along the St. Croix River. If the river is too busy, Arcola is surrounded by smaller lakes that your dog can splash around in, like Big Carnelian Lake. This 464 acre lake is popular with locals who fish often here.

Arcola is known for Arcola Mills, a historical house that was built in the same year the town was founded. Arcola Mills is also the third-oldest and biggest all-wood-frame house that is still standing in the entire state of Minnesota. The house originally belonged to two brothers who started one of the first sawmills on the St.Croix River. You and your pup are welcome to visit Arcola Mills, and be sure to take some pawsome Instagram photos while you’re there.
