The Silver Comet Trail goes through Cobb, Paulding, and Polk counties, and along your journey, you and your dog will come across a variety of trail-side amenities, residential communities, parks, and other scenic spots. Hiram is a small city just east of Dallas, and right in the heart of town, you'll find the Hiram Hounds Dog Park. It's only a ten-minute drive from Dallas, and this off-leash park includes a section for dogs who weigh less than 35 pounds, a section for bigger dogs, and a third section where dogs of all sizes can mingle. Each area has a double-gated entryway as an added safety measure, and the City is working to add agility equipment, water stations, and other useful dog park features. Hiram Hounds connects to the Silver Comet Trail, so if you'd like to take your dog for an on-leash walk, you can do that near the dog park, too.

It's a 30-mile drive east of Dallas, and this off-leash park has different areas for big and small dogs.
