Lusk Park

The Lusk Park neighborhood in the northern area of Edwardsville is filled with rolling hills and residential homes. The area has one of the largest active parks in the city known as Hoppe Park, with 3 different sized baseball fields, restrooms, concessions, nighttime lights, and a playground. Dogs are welcome while on a leash, and will enjoy the paved walkways and open fields to play in while visiting, There's also access to water fountains, benches, and clean-up stations. Hotz Park is also in the neighborhood, and is covered in dense trees. Features of this park include asphalt trails, two small ponds, and a playground. The park is dog-friendly to leashed pups, but remember to bring some clean-up bags and water!

Historic Downtown

The Historic Downtown neighborhood of the city has been around for decades, with older buildings still intact and a dog-friendly atmosphere. The Sam Vadalabene Field here is about 6 acres, with two baseball diamonds, concrete walkways that encircle the field, and open space. Dogs can run around, play, or take a nice walk while on a leash, and can also enjoy features like restrooms, water fountains, picnic areas, and benches. The 1818 Chophouse is also in the neighborhood, which provides dog-walkers with dog-friendly outdoor seating, water bowls for Fido, and delicious meat courses.

Linden

The neighborhood of Linden is quiet and peaceful with gorgeous views of the different ponds and fields in the area. Leclaire Park surrounds one of those ponds, offering plentiful green space, shaded sitting areas, paved paths, and fishing access. There's a perimeter trail, water fountains, benches, and a clean-up station for leashed pups to enjoy. The neighborhood also hosts a long trail known as the MCT Nickel Plate Trail, a 28.5-mile trail made from asphalt and crushed stone, with benches, trash bins, and water fountains along the way. The trail is dog-friendly to leashed dogs, but dogs must be cleaned up after.

Dunlap Lake

The serene neighborhood of Dunlap Lake surrounds the lake of the same name, providing residents with a great place to fish and swim. Rotary Park in this neighborhood has lots of green space for leashed pups. The park also has a playground, benches, trash bins, and shaded picnic areas. Dogs are not allowed on the playground, and the park is open from 8 AM to 7 PM. After getting all that exercise, head down to Mr. Currys India Restaurant, a dog-friendly restaurant that makes authentic Indian dishes you can enjoy at the outdoor tables for humans and dogs, with umbrellas and complimentary water.

Edwardsville City Center

The Edwardsville City Center has a lot of the cities shopping districts and business centers, but still provides a large park for the community, the Edwardsville Township Community Park. Providing over 27 acres of land that has lots of open space, the park also features concrete walkways, enclosed tennis courts, playgrounds, restrooms, two pavilions, and lots of parking. Remember to leash up your pup before coming here, so you two can enjoy the additional features like water fountains, benches, picnic shelters, and clean-up stations.
