Bridle Trails
Bridle Trails State Park offers 482-acres, and is known to some as "the wilderness in the city.” Offering a 28-mile hiking and horseback riding trail system, this state park welcomes equestrians, hikers, and leashed dogs. Since the park is used primarily by horses and their riders, owners are asked to keep their pups leashed and under control. Be sure to clean up after your dog here too! Hike the trails, and enjoy the dense, mature tree growth, as well as the small picnic and BBQ area near the horse show arenas.12

The picture perfect place for a stroll, Waverly Beach Park boasts sprawling verdant lawns, a playground, picnic tables, benches, and restrooms. For pups that want to work on their fur line, the "U" shaped sunbathing dock is a heavenly place to relax, unwind, and soak in the sun, so long as dogs stay leashed. Pups can cool off with a dip at the far end of the pier, across from the designated beach area, or lounge in the shade of one of the many stately park trees.
Finn Hill
For some amazing outdoor adventure, head to the northern end of Kirkland to Saint Edward State Park. This 326 acre park includes 3,000 feet of Lake Washington shoreline. Hike the trails, or set up a picnic in the popular river rock alcove that locals call the Grotto. Along the way, you are sure to run into the history of the area, which includes the brick building that once housed the Pacific Northwest’s first Catholic seminary. Today, the park is enjoyed by hikers, bikers, boaters, and dogs. In the park, your pup needs to remain leashed, and be sure to always clean up after him.
