This is a puptastic 5.6 mile sniff-tastic trail that starts near a beautiful part of town near to greenery and a lake. It joins to the old Baltimore and Ohio Rail Trail where you can go exploring nearby creeks and over bridges.
Another puptastic place to bring your canine is the Sangchris Lake State Park! There is over 3,000 acres of land here that you can explore with your pooch, with miles of sniff-tastic trail through nature. You can also fish here at Sangchris Lake, and can find bluegill, crappie, bass and catfish in the waters, as well as easy boat access. In addition, you can hunt for deer and squirrels at Sangchris Lake State Park. Since horses can use the five mile trail here, it may be best to keep your beloved companion on leash.

Another puptastic place that is not far from Rochester and located in Springfield is Iles Park! This is one of the oldest city parks and has 10 acres of land that you can explore with your canine. There is plenty of green grass, and some furrific amenities that you can use during the day. This includes a picnic shelter for enjoying some treats, a playground for the kids, pickleball courts, horseshoe courts, restrooms and benches. In addition, there is a sniff-tastic walkway that you can follow to get some exercise and enjoy the sunshine with your pup.
If you like to try out new dog friendly eateries with your canine then you will love what is on offer over in the puptown of Springfield. This pawsome place is not far from Rochester and it is home to Wm. Van’s Coffee House. Here you can grab a fresh cup of coffee and delicious sandwiches that you can enjoy. In addition, since this place is dog friendly, there are outdoor tables in the garden where you can sit. There is even a small dog run and dog bowls available! Another furrific spot in town is Obed & Isaac’s Microbrewery and Eatery. Here you can get your paws into some tasty meals, as well as try on of the craft beers on offer. Of course, your pup is welcome at one of the tables outside.
