“Fun, friendly and always ready!”
My name is Fiona and I’m a kind and loving person with a soft spot for those furry friends. I grew up with a dog so I am very familiar with their needs, routines, and care. Others might describe me as friendly, energetic, responsible, and hardworking. I know how important your friend is to you so I will take care of them like they were my own. Whether you need a one time dog walker, someone to watch over your dog, or a loyal friend I’m your gal! Can’t wait to meet you and your furry friend!

Glasford is a small village in Illinois, less than 20 miles southwest of Peoria. Glasford is set near an ancient meteor crater, which now has no traces of the meteor strike at all. The area is known as “Glasford Disturbance," but it probably won't disturb you much! Glasford is tiny, home to just over 1,000 residents, so you may need to sniff around elsewhere to find outdoor fun, cafes, and shops that welcome Fido. Canton and Pekin are good if you need a vet consult. Peoria, just 10 minutes away, would be a fantastic choice for all kinds of dog-friendly fun, though.
Even if you and your pooch consider yourselves city slickers, don't rush into the big city just yet! Head to Banner Marsh State Fish and Wildlife in Canton, just south of Glasford. The district covers more than 4,300 acres offering all kinds of outdoor activities! If you love exploring new places, get ready to stay here for the whole day -- the wilderness is snifftastic! Sadly, though, camping isn't an option for pooches here. Locals say that the walking trails lead to the best fishing spots in Illinois. There’s also a dog training facility if you want to exercise with your pup and learn some new tricks.
Want to visit a city with a vibrant downtown and an abundance of entertainment? No need to travel too far. Pekin is Glasford’s closest neighbor, centered on Illinois State Road 9. Here, you will find art galleries, fast food restaurants (where pooches are welcome!) and shops. Mineral Springs Park, just farther east of downtown, is in charge of entertainment for the whole family! Centered on about 200 acres, the park offers boating, picnicking, sports, and more. Happy Tails Dog Park is the place for pups! Fenced and secure, this enclosure is perfect for catching up with the latest doggy news, making new friends, and running all the energy off! The park also offers seating, drinking water, waste bags, and plenty of shade.
Marquette Heights is a southern suburb of Peoria in Tazewell County, Illinois. It’s a populated site with small and medium-sized single-family homes and a commercial area. The settlement is just east of North Pekin. What you will pawsitively love here is Independence Park, a vast green space with a golf course, playground, and more! Get ready to hold your leash tight when you hit the miles of walking and hiking trails with Fido! The wooded area is just excellent for sniffing and barking at squirrels. Don’t forget to pack some food. The picnic facility is friendly, shaded, and has enough tables to fit a celebration!
West Peoria is an independent community on Kickapoo River, 3 miles away from Peoria’s downtown. Mostly residential, the area includes medium-sized single-family homes, two cemeteries, and one golf course. But just north, you can sniff out Laura Bradley Park, a green space with cool amenities! This is a pawfect place for sports enthusiasts and dog owners! The woodlands are perfect for on-leash strolls and sports activities. Or, you can ditch the leash and have some fun in the dog park here! The doggy spot is vast enough for running and playing with pup peers. Why not enjoy a friendly picnic with your new furry friends afterward?
You will find another Peoria suburb and independent community north of downtown, on Peoria Lake. Can you spot the red water tower? If so, then you are in the right place! The site has several beautiful waterfront overlooks and a few areas of interest if you're traveling with Fido. Check out the miles of walking trails in Forest Park Nature Center. Some tours are guided! You can also check out the local store with environmentally friendly goods. Stop in Bielfiedt Park for a picnic or relax in the shade before heading to Duryea Park in the heart of West Peoria. This is a simple, bare-bones doggy spot with a fence, but your puppy can finally play and run off-leash here!
If you leave behind Chillicothe's downtown and head south toward Rome, in a few miles, you’ll get to North River Beach Road. It's a welcoming area overlooking the confluence of Goose Lake and Upper Peoria Lake. The area features small beach houses and general stores where you can grab some supplies for your adventures. Why do you need to stop by with Fido? Three words: Walnut Dog Park! It’s a snifftastic facility with two fenced sections for off-leash games. The area is big enough for chasing some new canine pals, but the park prohibits any professional training activities. Just relax on the provided seating and enjoy the local company.
