The college town of Urbana, Illinois, with its estimate of 41,250 citizens is a very welcoming place for animals and dogs in particular. Thanks to a high amount of veterinary doctors and hospitals no animal owner has to worry about their pet’s health and there are also plenty of amenities for canine companions.

The best deal in town for dog owners is a membership to Urbana Park District Dog Park. This dog park part of the Urbana Park District and consists of ten separate, enclosed dog runs. Owners of small dogs do not have to worry as there are separate areas for smaller dogs. There is also plenty of shelter from the sun in the shape of trees.

The University of Illinois also offers a few sights to see where dogs can be brought along for the ride. Dogs are allowed to frolic freely in the outside areas of the University of Illinois Arboretum and the University of Illinois Campus. The same holds true for the Monticello Railway Museum and the Alto Vineyards. Both are not related to the University of Illinois but are still worth a visit.

Finding a place to stay dogs is an easy task as there are a good number of hotels in Urbana and the surrounding towns that allow pets.
