When you want to get out and enjoy some recreational time for you and your four-footed friend, head over to Walnut Grove. About 14 miles southeast of the small community of Daisie, this neighborhood includes Delta Meadows River Park-Locke Trail. You and Fido can enjoy a jog or a leisurely walk along this 1.4 mile out-and-back path that’s part of the national Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. After exploring the Locke Trail, head over to Dr. Paul Barnes Community Park in the downtown area to relax or to meet up with friends. Your canine pal needs to be on a leash that’s no longer than 6 feet throughout this neighborhood.

The neighborhood of Franklin, located on the outskirts of Sacramento, is about 16.5 miles from Daisie. With a short drive, you can meet some friends for a little recreation and social time at Morse Community Park. Feel free to explore this 30-acre park that includes open fields, jogging/walking trails, and a fenced, off-leash dog park. Let Fido enjoy some puppy fellowship in the fenced enclosure. There are separate play areas here for large and small dogs. Pooches are welcome in other parts of the park ,provided you keep them on a leash that’s no longer than 6 feet, and you pick up their messes.

If you’re headed out to Laguna West-Lakeside for an overnight with Fido, you can find a room at the Extended Stay America just off I-5 on the west side of the neighborhood. This hotel allows up to 2 pets for an additional charge. While you’re in the area, take advantage of the pet-friendly parks. Pups are allowed in community parks provided they are kept on a leash up to six feet long. Take a stroll through Bartholomew Park, and enjoy the beautiful green space that’s bordered by the east and west side of a lake. You and your pooch can also stretch your legs at the Johnson Park Recreation Center. Give your pup a special treat with a shampoo or style at Samm’s Pet Styling just north of Town Square. Laguna West-Lakeside is about a 20-mile drive from Daisie.

If you and Fido are craving social contact with other pups and their owners, take a drive to Laguna. Just 22 miles from Daisie, you’ll find opportunities to connect with others at PetCo or PetSmart while you stock up on treats and supplies for your pooch. For some off-leash exercise for your furry friend, head north to the Jacinto Creek Park. This 11-acre park includes a large, enclosed dog park for Fido and friends to romp and play. In the dog area, you’ll find watering stations, gravel paths, open green space, and an obstacle course. After some free time, you can also leash up and walk the trails in the rest of the park.

Elk Grove

When you’re looking for a pawtastic adventure for you and Fido, head over to Elk Grove in the southern suburbs of Sacramento. A short 22-mile drive from Daisie, this community offers a puptastic off leash dog park in Elk Grove Regional Park. With over 120 acres of land, this park has a 1.4 mile multi-use trail that winds through the park and past the scenic lake. You and your furry pal can enjoy a nice walk or jog together as long as your pup is on a leash no more than 6 feet long. To give your pooch some play time with other four footed members, head into the enclosed dog park and let your pup run free!
