Surrounded by beautiful parks, lush trees and gardens, and the main street that looks like an old western town, Elk Grove is a great city to explore with your pet. With over 40,000 pet owners, there is bound to be a pet-friendly activity that strikes your fancy.

One of the best attractions is the Elk Grove Dog Park of course. With a giant pond in the middle, it is a real treat for pets. There are plenty of beautiful paths to stroll along and shady trees to keep you cool while your dog plays. There is some agility equipment to test out and of course, separate areas for small and large dogs to play safely.

Another park in the area is Morse Park. It is similar to Elk Grove Park with the separate areas, benches, and shade. They also have jogging trails and water spigots to keep your pet hydrated. The park is very large and grassy and well-maintained for your dog’s enjoyment.

While this next attraction may not be any fun for Fluffy, it is a necessary evil. Elk Grove has a mobile vaccination clinic every first Saturday of the month, so there is no excuse for avoiding those important shots. Once the torture is finished, you can take your pet to the park or to a local store for a treat and all hurts will be forgotten.

If lodging in Elk Grove, there are a few hotels to choose from. Both the Holiday Inn Express and Extended Stay America boast fabulous rooms that allow pets under 50 pounds. When you are hungry, pay a visit to Paesanos for some pizza on their terrace while your trusty companion rests at your feet.

Elk Grove is a lovely city that offers some great days out with your pet. Your furry friend will appreciate the time spent with you at one of their fantastic parks and especially if you slip them a little bit of pepperoni from a tasty pizza! Elk Grove is waiting for you and your pet today.
