The local Holiday Inn and the restaurant Paesanos are a couple of dog friendly establishments in the area.

Franklin

Franklin is a very intimate community of Elk Grove that has a lot to offer residents who live there. Morse Park has a large picnic area, basketball and bocce ball courts, a soccer field, jogging trail, adult fitness area, skate park and, finally, a beautiful dog park. Laguna West is located directly off the West Side Freeway, which is only a short drive from the 18,000-acre Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge that has several trails that make for a fun outing with your dog!

Vineyard Meadows

Vineyard has several parks close by. Churchill Downs Community Park spans on two sides of the road, and has large fields perfect for playing fetch or frisbee with your pooch! The nearby Camden Park is another great park to bring your dog for a scenic walk. This 7-acre park has beautiful natural spaces, open play areas, and walking paths wrapped around a giant lake. Pups are allowed, but please note this is not an off-leash park. For the safety of your dog and others, the park asks owners to always ensure their dogs are kept on leash.

Via Verde

The city center of Elk Grove has plenty of shopping, restaurants, recreation and activities to offer. Elk Grove Regional Park offers softball, baseball, soccer fields, swim center, horseshoe and volleyball courts. They also feature concerts, events and meetings on Strauss Island (located in the middle of Elk Grove Park Lake) or inside the Pavilion where your on-leash dog is welcome. There is an off-leash dog park located inside Elk Grove Regional Park that offers pooches a safe fenced in area to run wild and free within the park. The Park also hosts the Greater Sacramento Areas K9 Cancer Walk, with all proceeds going to help support canine cancer research.
