San Carlos
San Carlos is 5 miles north of Emerald Hills. Heather School Dog Park is located at 5 Porto Marino Lane. This is a 1.5-acre dog park that is located partially on a hillside. It is fully fenced and open to the public. Dogs get to play on a natural terrain of grass, rocks, and dirt. This dog park provides waste bags and receptacles. A hiking trail surrounds the dog park, and gives a view of the canyon. City Hall Dog Park is located at 1401 San Carlos Avenue. This dog park was opened in 2015 and has become a welcome addition to the city for local and visiting dogs. The City Hall Dog Park gives dogs the opportunity to socialize and play leash-free. Care was taken to preserve the trees, flowers, and plants in this dog park.

Belmont
Belmont is 7 miles north of Emerald Hills. Cipriani Dog Park is located at 2525 Buena Vista Avenue. This is a spacious dog park with land that is completely fenced. The ground is mostly dirt. Many decorated and covered benches give the dog park a western charm. The dog park has a water fountain. Waste bag and receptacles are also in easy reach. The main park includes covered picnic areas and a playground. Belmont has some dog-friendly places to eat, too. Sumac Mediterranean Grill located at 1937 El Camino Road has an outdoor patio table for you and your dog. Whispers Cafe & Creperie on 390 El Camino Rd. serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor patio.

Redwood City is three miles north of Emerald Hills. Redwood City has many activities for dogs. Main Street Dog Agility Park is located at 1295 Main Street. This fully fenced area has opportunities for dogs to play and socialize. Dogs get plenty of exercise climbing on the agility equipment. Shore Dogs Dog Park is located at 1393 Radio Road. This dog park has a separate area for small dogs. There are a few benches for the human companion. The ground is mostly dirt in some places. Stulsaft Park is a 42-acre park located at 3700 Farm Hill Road that has designated one of its trails for off-leash walking. Picnic tables and shelter are available for some outdoor eating.

Foster City is 15 miles north of Emerald Hills. Foster City Dog Park is located on Foster City Blvd and Bounty Drive. Dogs, grab a football -- this dog park is covered in artificial turf. This practical surface keeps dog clean even if it rains. Dogs love to play and socialize here. There is a separate area for small dogs. This dog park has water for the dogs. It takes care of the people, too There are several covered benches. Shade is in short supply, though. Doggie poop bags are always in stock and ready to use. Waterfront Pizza located 859 Edgewater Blvd. is the place to go for lunch or dinner. The restaurant has a patio outside for dogs and their human companions.

San Mateo
San Mateo is located 13 miles north of Emerald Hills. San Mateo has many activities for you and your dog. Laurie Meadows Dog Park on 4017 Pasadena Drive has a place for your dog to get off leash and find some canine companions. Laurie Meadows is a small dog park without a separate area for small dogs. The ground is mostly grass with some dirt. Water is available on-site. Los Prados Dog Park is another small dog park for off leash fun. This dog park has some nice thick grass to play in. All dogs socialize in one area. Central Park Bistro on 181 E 4th Avenue has dog-friendly outdoor seating. The restaurant serves interesting cuisine for lunch and dinner, so if you’re looking to try something new, head to Central Park Bistro!
