Belle Monte
This local dog park is the only one in the Belle Monte neighborhood, and it's frequented by a lot of visitors. The park is called Cipriani Dog Park Belmont and it's an off-leash park. The park includes areas for small and large dogs and provides plenty of shade for your dog's comfort and your convenience. It's fully enclosed and has benches for dog owners to watch over their fur babies. Moreover, there's water available at the park as well as night lighting. The park is located next to a school so you'll find plenty of parking nearby. Other amenities include waste cans, poop shovels, tennis balls and frisbees. What's not to like?36

Western Belmont
Water Dog Lake Park is a trail that it's easy at the start, but becomes narrow as you go further. Because of the thick vegetation around, there are lots of ticks along this trail, so make sure that your pooch is properly protected before visiting. Although the trail allows only dogs on leash, you'll find a dog-friendly lake at the end of the trail where your pup is allowed to swim off-leash. It's not a long trail, around 2 miles, making it a fairly easy hike. You should definitely bring lots of water for your four-legged buddy and waste bags as well. Make sure you know the map of the trail as well because it is very easy to get lost!24

Presidio
Around 27 miles north of Belmont is a wonderful dog beach called Baker Beach in the Presidio neighborhood of San Francisco. The beach is simply pawesome and offers something for everybody; it's dog-friendly, nude-friendly, and family-friendly! Dogs are allowed off-leash north of Lobos Creek, but they must be on-leash south of Lobos Creek. There is free parking and restrooms for the human visitors. You need to bring your own waste bags and be sure to clean up after your pal. You'll also need to bring water, as none is provided here. The view is also a big plus: you can take amazing pictures with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background!12

Half Moon Bay
Around 13 miles west of Belmont is another beach called Poplar Beach, which is located in a small city called Half Moon Bay. Officially, the beach allows dogs only on-leash, but lots of people let their dogs run free. Nearby parking will set you back $2 per hour. There is no water available, so you have to bring your own. There also aren't any restrooms for humans, just a few port-a-potties. The trail next to the beach gets a little bit steep; you need to get down a ridge to get to the beach, so be careful! You'll also find Half Moon Bay Dog Park in the area, which is a small, off-leash fenced park.

Golden Gate Park
Located approximately 26 miles away from Belmont is the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. This park is simply pawesome! It includes four separate off-leash areas for dogs. There are lots of tennis ball around for your dog's amusement, as well as other toys. The park is very spacious, and you can find the fenced area at Fulton & 38th. In some areas of the park, there might be some low poison oak, so you should be careful. You have to bring your own poop bags and clean up after your fur baby. You should always be aware of the area you're in; your pup will need to wear a leash in some areas of this park.
