If you're visiting Kenwood with your pup, then you must make time to stop by Alston Park. This park is located in Napa's Salvador neighborhood, around 18 miles away from Kenwood. The park is a nature preserve that has a designated area for dogs. The dog area is fenced and it has all the amenities that you might need! There is a water pan with running water, double-gated entry system, dog waste bags, agility equipment, dog toys, and so much more! Outside of the fenced area, a large part of the park allows dogs off-leash, but some parts of the park require your pal to wear a leash.

Another park that you can visit in the vicinity is the Rocky Memorial Dog Park. The park is located in West Petaluma, around 22 miles away from Kenwood. The park is a 9-acre off-leash area where your dog can train, exercise or play fetch. It's the perfect place if you want to tire out your pooch. Since the park is pretty spacious and not fenced, your dog must respond well to voice commands to avoid incidents. There is no water available here, so make sure you bring some with you. Also, bring waste bags to clean up after your fur baby.

The park includes separate areas for large and small dogs. There's plenty of lush green grass for your pup to roll around in at this well-maintained park. Drinking water is available in addition to some benches for the human visitors. The best thing about the park is the pond where your pup can swim and have a great time!

One of the most beautiful hikes in the vicinity is the Oat Hill Mine. The trail is around 21 miles away from Kenwood and is located in a small city called Calistoga. The great thing about this hike is that you can let your pup off-leash if he can follow voice commands! The trail is pretty well-shaded, but it has small amounts of poison oak, so be on the lookout. The view that you will encounter will leave you breathless! This is the perfect place for adventure and exploring with your dog. Make sure you bring water with you and some snacks. Also, bring waste bags to keep the trail clean for everybody.

Another fenced, off-leash park that you can visit in the area is the puptastic Dog Bone Meadows at O'Hair Park. It is located around 32 miles away from Kenwood in Novato's San Marin neighborhood. The park includes a 2-acre space for playing and exercising, grass-covered ground, and some agility equipment. There's also water available at the site, and they even have a doggie swimming pool for the hot days. There's a separate area for small dogs, and waste bags are provided in the fenced area. Most of the park is shaded and it's pretty well-maintained overall.
