Montebello Hills
If hiking is something both you and your furry pal like to do, then check out the Lario Trail in Montebello. This great trail is only three miles out of Monterey Park, and offers 17.3-miles with an asphalt and concrete suface. The trail will take you through Lost Angeles County and along the Los Angeles River. If you and Fido finish the trail, but are ready for more, it does connect to the San Gabriel River Trail, so you and your furry pal can extend your day of fun.36

South El Monte
Seven miles out of Monterey Park is the San Gabriel River Trail in South El Monte. The trail is a whopping 38-miles long with a trail surface of asphalt and concrete for you and Fido to walk along. This trail is popular among bikers and walkers, but you will often see other pups along the way. While walking along the trail, you will get a beautiful view of the San Gabriel Mountains. You will also walk along the river, through neighborhoods, and even some industrial areas. For an even longer hiking experience, the trail connects to other trails, like the Bellflower Bike Trail, the Coyote Creek Bikeway, and the Lario Trail.24

Stoneman
Get a great bite to eat with Fido by your side in the Stoneman neighborhood of Alhambra, which is five minutes out of Monterey Park. Hollydale
If Fido is in need of a little off-leash fun, take him over to the Hollydale Dog Park in South Gate. Only eleven miles out of Monterey Park, Fido will love being able to play with other dogs. The park is separated into a small and large dog park with a shaded area for dog parents to relax in. The park also has trash cans, water, and agility equipment for you dog. There is a mixture of grass and dirt, perfect for fetch or digging. Your dog will be exhausted on the car ride home from all the fun he had at this pawsome dog park.
