Located about 11 miles east of Los Angeles, the suburb of Rosemead is a population-dense area with six community parks and two larger parks. When you want to get out with your pup to enjoy some green space, you'll be able to find a spot where you can have a picnic or take a walk together. If you're seeking professional care for your pooch, there's a veterinarian located within the city limits.
There's a pawtastic trail just south of Rosemead in South El Monte. Take Fido to the LARIO Trail and go hiking or jogging on this pathway. Dogs on a leash up to six feet long are welcome to join their owners on this Rails-to-Trails Conservancy trail.
Another fantastic multi-use trail where you and your furry friend can go hiking is the San Gabriel River Trail. Follow the path of the San Gabriel River on this paved pathway. Make sure you keep your pup on a leash and under control when using the trail.
When you want to treat your canine pal to some off-leash play time with other four-footed members, take him to Whittier Dog Park. This facility is just over nine miles south of downtown. There are separate sections for large and small dogs here. Each play area includes shaded parts, benches, and water stations. Dogs must have a current county license to enter.
Rosemead and the surrounding areas have a variety of dog-friendly outdoor activities that you and your pooch can enjoy together.
