The best part of this beautiful community is the Lario San Gabriel River Trail, a multi-use trail that runs along the Rio Hondo. The 35.4-mile trail is welcome to all dogs as long as they remain on a leash, and has water spots for dogs and their humans at the trailheads. Although long, the trail is made up of nature trails with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and natural wildlife.

West Whitten Boulevard

The West Whitten Boulevard neighborhood is home to Saybrook Park, a busy center for many of the residents of the Montebello community. The park is open to dogs on leashes and has many amenities for them and their owners from dusk until dawn. The open play area is great to run around and play with your dog, and features a small walking trail along the outside of the park. It’s a peaceful place to go for a short walk or play, or a place to be able just to get out and enjoy some fresh air.
