Welcome to Como, Colorado, a tiny town with a big personality! With a population of less than 500, this town isn’t boasting any exciting nightlife or tourist attractions. But what it doesn’t have in activities, it surely makes up for in picturesque views. Nestled in the foothills of many surrounding mountains, this former railroad town is often a stopping point for visitors heading to the Rocky Mountains.
If you enjoy spending time exploring the great outdoors, pawticularly those areas rich with history, you’ll love the town of Como! Together with Fido, you can explore the Como Roundhouse, the only roundhouse still standing in the entire state! The city is located about 80 miles outside of Denver, so there is access to big cities in the event of an emergency, but the rural, secluded aspect of Como lends to its charm. Tourists traveling with pets can book a room at the local Como Hotel, which accommodates your furry friend for a small fee.
If you want to explore beyond Como, load up your car and check out of some of the surrounding trailheads! In the neighboring city of Jefferson, for example, you’ll find entrances to the Boreas Pass as well as the Kenosha Pass West Trail!
