North East Ansonia is full of natural beauty. Most of the area is covered by the Naugatuck State Forest. This state forest is the pawfect place for nature-loving friends who like to explore and hike in groups of two- and four-legged companions. You will need a good harness and a comfortable leash for safe hiking here with your dog. The terrain can be a challenge, so if you need a bit of a break, you can head over to Beaver Brook to cool off a bit before heading home. The Upper Main Street Historic District has its own green space in the middle of town that also makes for the pawfect pit stop on your way home.

South Ansonia is a quiet little part of town where you will find beautiful homes with lush green lawns that will have your dog's tail going all over the place. The neighborhood is home to Eastbury Park, where you can take your dog on-leash for a long walk or for a picnic under any of the shade trees found in the area. During the spring and summer months, Warsaw Park is a lovely place to stop by for a walk and some time socializing with other dog walkers. If your dog gets nervous meeting new dogs on-leash, make sure you give everyone plenty of space.
