Hotchkiss Heights

Hotchkiss Heights

Hotchkiss Heights is an amazing spot to visit with your loving canine companion. This area is home to the Abe Stone Park, which is a small but efficient green space where your dog is welcome to join you on-leash for hours of fun in the sun. Just make sure you clean up after your pooch with some doggy waste bags before you head over to Coe Pond to beat the summer heat. Just make sure you have some dry towels waiting for the two of you in the car in case you end up taking a splash into the water!

North East Ansonia

North East Ansonia

North East Ansonia is full of natural beauty. Most of the area is covered by the Naugatuck State Forest. This state forest is the pawfect place for nature-loving friends who like to explore and hike in groups of two- and four-legged companions. You will need a good harness and a comfortable leash for safe hiking here with your dog. The terrain can be a challenge, so if you need a bit of a break, you can head over to Beaver Brook to cool off a bit before heading home. Moulthrop Brook is another local water source that will have your dog's tail wagging all the way home.

Central Ansonia

Central Ansonia

Central Ansonia is a pupperific place to live if you want to be reasonably close to a lot of different things. The Naugatuck River flows right through the center of town and is a wagtastic spot to visit on a hot day. You can spread a blanket down on the riverbed and curl up with your pup and a good book for some rest and relaxation, or you can go in for a splash! The Upper Main Street Historic District has its own green space in the middle of town that also makes for the pawfect pit stop on your way home.

South Ansonia

South Ansonia

South Ansonia is a quiet little part of town where you will find beautiful homes with lush green lawns that will have your dog's tail going all over the place. The neighborhood is home to Eastbury Park, where you can take your dog on-leash for a long walk or for a picnic under any of the shade trees found in the area. During the spring and summer months, Warsaw Park is a lovely place to stop by for a walk and some time socializing with other dog walkers. If your dog gets nervous meeting new dogs on-leash, make sure you give everyone plenty of space.
West Ansonia

West Ansonia

West Ansonia has its own character and natural beauty that dog walkers are sure to appreciate. The Osbornedale State Park runs right along the edge of West Ansonia. This park is home to fishing areas, hiking, picnic tables and an environmental outreach center. If you have both fur-babies and human children, you will love taking the whole family for a day out at this wonderful state park. Dogs are allowed in designated areas, although they aren't permitted inside of the indoor outreach center buildings, so you will want to plan ahead for that part if you are bringing your family over.
