Hotchkiss Heights
Hotchkiss Heights is an amazing spot to visit with your loving canine companion. This area is home to the Abe Stone Park, which is a small but efficient green space where your dog is welcome to join you on-leash for hours of fun in the sun. Just make sure you clean up after your pooch with some doggy waste bags before you head over to Coe Pond to beat the summer heat. Just make sure you have some dry towels waiting for the two of you in the car in case you end up taking a splash into the water!36

North East Ansonia
North East Ansonia is full of natural beauty. Most of the area is covered by the Naugatuck State Forest. This state forest is the pawfect place for nature-loving friends who like to explore and hike in groups of two- and four-legged companions. You will need a good harness and a comfortable leash for safe hiking here with your dog. The terrain can be a challenge, so if you need a bit of a break, you can head over to Beaver Brook to cool off a bit before heading home. Moulthrop Brook is another local water source that will have your dog's tail wagging all the way home.

Central Ansonia
Central Ansonia is a pupperific place to live if you want to be reasonably close to a lot of different things. The Naugatuck River flows right through the center of town and is a wagtastic spot to visit on a hot day. You can spread a blanket down on the riverbed and curl up with your pup and a good book for some rest and relaxation, or you can go in for a splash! The Upper Main Street Historic District has its own green space in the middle of town that also makes for the pawfect pit stop on your way home.12

South Ansonia
South Ansonia is a quiet little part of town where you will find beautiful homes with lush green lawns that will have your dog's tail going all over the place. The neighborhood is home to Eastbury Park, where you can take your dog on-leash for a long walk or for a picnic under any of the shade trees found in the area. During the spring and summer months, Warsaw Park is a lovely place to stop by for a walk and some time socializing with other dog walkers. If your dog gets nervous meeting new dogs on-leash, make sure you give everyone plenty of space.
