“I will treat your dog as one of my family!”

I grew up with dogs on our horse farm & pet sat through college. I was a vet tech, dog groomer & kennel manager for 8 years at a vet before starting my own business so I can do various medical treatments, meds, etc. I have 2 large dogs- Griffey a humane society pup and Monty a golden retriever. If you are going away for a weekend or vacation, my daughter, son and I all do house/pet sitting in your home. Keep your dog in the comfort of it's own home/schedule & not the stresses of a kennel.

Dog Walking in East Hampton

East Hampton is a quaint town in Middlesex County. Originally settled in 1746, this New England community was once a major bell manufacturer that was once known as Belltown. Today, it is the perfect combination of rural and suburban living. Farmlands, natural resources, and a welcoming atmosphere make it a pawsome place to raise a four legged family member. Although East Hampton doesn’t have any veterinary clinics of its own, the neighboring community of Marlborough offers two.

Sears Park is East Hampton’s only city park, and fur-tunately, canine visitors are welcome. So, leash up your pup and head over for some fun in the sun. Situated right on the shore of Lake Pocotopaug, this park is a pup-ular spot for swimming and boating. While dogs are not allowed on the beach, they can definitely stroll through the grounds and sniff around the grassy fields. Tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts are also available. The park has picnic facilities, so bring a lunch and stay awhile.

If your pooch likes sleeping beneath the stars, make a reservation at one of the town’s pet friendly campgrounds. GrandView Camp Resort and Markham Meadows Campground both welcome leashed furry guests. What a great way to let your pup experience East Hampton’s natural beauty!

Need a new place to walk your dog? Look no further! Grab her leash and head over to the Air Line State Park Trail. It was once the rail line for the New York to Boston train, but now this old rail corridor is a beautiful trail that stretches 55 miles and cuts across several cities. Needless to say, your pooch will have plenty of room to burn off her extra energy. The quiet wooded scenery is a nice break from the rush of everyday life.  Since it is a multiuse trail, expect to see cyclists, horseback riders, walkers, and joggers.

The southwest corner of East Hampton is home to a puptastic state park that your pooch is sure to enjoy. Pack up some water, a leash, and snacks, and venture off to the Hurd State Park. Located right on the banks of the Connecticut River, this park covers nearly 1,000 acres where a nice network of trails guides you through the forested space. You can easily get in a couple miles of prime hiking. Due to its waterfront location, this park draws boaters and anglers. It also has picnic facilities. No bones about it, a trip to this park will make your pup one happy hound!

The Salmon River State Forest is a pawsome place to spend some quality time with your four legged pal. Located in Colchester, this gorgeous slice of nature is only 10 minutes outside of East Hampton. As the name suggests, the Salmon River is the forest’s main feature. Spend the day walking along the river, or if you’re feeling lucky, cast a line. Follow the Salmon River Trail to get the lay of the land. This park even has one of Connecticut’s famed covered bridges. Trails connect the forest to the neighboring Day Pond State Park. Here dogs are welcome on the trails and picnic areas, but need to avoid the waterfront.

Treat your pup to a day at the Devil’s Hopyard State Park. Located in East Haddam, this spectacular park is about a half hour south of East Hampton. Pack up your pooch and go discover the natural beauty this park has to offer. Choose from trails like Millington Trail, Orange Trail Loop, or the Witch Hazel Trail. Let your four legged hiking buddy be the guide as your trek through the forest and ferns. The crown jewel of this park is Chapman Falls, which drops 60 feet over unique rock formations.
