“I’m a medical student who loves dogs!”

Hello! My name is Abby and I love all things fitness and dog related! I joined wag over a free summer I had before beginning grad school here at DMU and fell in love with it during my first walk! I have two dogs at home so I am experienced with walking multiples, and I have also handled puppies, elder dogs, and dogs with dog aggression. I am comfortable with it all! I have a busy schedule now that school has started, but love to fit in walks when I can. I look forward to meeting your fur babies!

Hi! I’m Rachael! Growing up, I’ve always had dogs, ranging from small to medium/large. I signed up for Wag because I can’t have a dog in my apartment, but I need a little more pup time in my life! I’m looking forward to meeting new dogs and spending time getting us both exercise! When I’m not walking for Wag, I enjoy reading, traveling, and trying new things.

“It's all about the fur babies big and small!”

My name is Penny Merta.  My love for animals began at a very early age. There hasn’t been a time in my life when pets weren’t a part of it. Pets are my passion! As a pet lover myself I understand the difficulty of finding someone who will care for your pets and respect your home. All pets are unique and deserve undivided attention. If you have a bored pooch and need daily dog walks, I will be there. I will not only treat your pets like my own, but I will ensure they are in good hands!

Dog Walking in Woodward

Woodward sprouted up as a railtown and has been slowly growing ever since. The original name picked for it was Colton, but by the time the townspeople attempted to ratify it, another town had settled on “Colton” and they had to change the name. Despite that setback, Woodward has survived everything that’s come itsway, including a tornado in 2005 that destroyed part of the east side of town. Woodward hass remained a small town with an Iowan focus on community--and that extends to doggie citizens. Though there are none inside the city limits, less than 20 miles away are more than five vets and veterinary hospitals, allowing for local dogs to be well cared for.

If you’re looking for a filling meal, head down to Woodward’s own Whistlin’ Donkey. The cute name is a sampling of the food that you’ll get: down home classics like burgers and wings, served with a side of local charm. Their outdoor patio is dog-friendly, but call ahead if you’re going to be heading out on the weekend or around a meal rush time to be sure they have a spot open for you. Water bowls are provided for doggie diners. In Woodward, dogs enjoy fresh air, outdoor dining, and room to roam.

Picnic areas, shelters and restrooms are located throughout the park, and offer a nice break from the 4 miles of walking trails.
