Dog Areas in Somonauk

Located in the flat plains of Illinois is the quiet, peaceful city of Somonauk. This town is mainly residential, so there is not a lot to do for you and your pup, but there is plenty of open space where you both can walk, play and run. Don't write this town off yet, though. Somonauk makes up for its lack of attractions in charm and proximity to an abundance of nearby nature preserves.

If you are passing through the city, you must stop by Lake Holiday, a large green area with its own man-made lake. Lake Holiday is a main attraction among the townspeople and passersby. If you like in Somonauk and want an adventure, you are very lucky, because Somonauk is incredibly close to Chicago and surrounded by the many villages of Chicago.

The region is full of the best of the Midwest -- restaurants, dog parks, nature preserves and mutts more! If you're bored in your own town, you can head to downtown Chicago, Fox Lake, Midewin National Tallgrass Prarie, or even the beach at Lake Michigan. Once you've had a boisterous day outside of Somonauk, going home will be even sweeter. The best part of traveling is always coming home!
