“The happier the dog, the happier the home!”

Hello there! I started my experience like most, with family pets. Now I volunteer in rescue as often as possible. It’s important to me to make sure every animal is safe, healthy, and loved. For years I've even kept pet supplies and a crate in my car because I won't let a loose dog, cat, or any animal, go ignored. Recently I've gotten serious about walking/jogging. I'm hoping to improve the life of the pets that can accompany me. I'm looking forward to working with you and your beloved companion!

Dog Walking in St Matthews

The city of St. Matthews, Kentucky is technically a city within a city! Despite being considered part of Louisville, which is only about nine miles away, St. Matthews has its own government. Many people consider St. Matthews to be a bedroom community, but don’t let that take away from all the city has to offer. St. Matthews was first incorporated back in 1950, and although it hasn’t been around very long, it’s still made quite a name for itself. It's home to two of the five largest malls in Kentucky, Mall St. Matthews and Oxmoor Center. If you like shopping, you know where to go!

Unfortunately, none of the shopping in St. Matthews is dog-friendly, so if you’re looking to take your furry, fashionable friend with you, you’ll want to head elsewhere. No worries, as Louisville isn’t far away. There are a handful of veterinarian clinics in St. Matthews, so whether you’re looking for care for a sick or injured pet or it’s just time for Fido’s wellness check, you have a few different options to choose from. Both you and Fido are sure to enjoy St. Matthews, and if you get bored, there are even more opportunities just a few miles away.

In the heart of St. Matthews, you and Fido can visit Brown Park! While this isn’t a dog park, it’s still worthy of a visit from you and your canine companion. This park has a paved walkway running throughout it, so you and Fido can enjoy a long walk together. There’s plenty of shade, so during the summer, your pup’s paws won’t get burned by the pavement. In autumn, the leaves turn to beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow, so if you’re going for a walk, make sure you snap some pictures. A leash is required since this isn’t a dog park.

This is a privately-run dog park, and you’ll need a permit to use the park. Applicants can find more details online.

Are you torn between going out to eat and leaving your dog alone at home again? Look no further than Louisville’s Clifton neighborhood, which is about 10 minutes west of St. Matthews. This neighborhood has several dog-friendly restaurants. Varanese is an upscale restaurant that serves American-style fare. Just over five miles from St. Matthews, you and Fido can go play together at Champions Dog Run! Whether your dog has a gold medal in napping or a blue ribbon in playing fetch, he’s sure to love this bark park. Champions Dog Run is nearly four acres, meaning your dog has plenty of room to run and play with his pawesome friends. You will need a permit from Louisville to use this dog run, which is standard at most dog parks in the city. Water is provided for both you and your dog, but the park tends to run out of baggies for clean-up, so you might want to bring some along from home.
