Groveland
The Groveland neighborhood of Groveland is directly adjacent to Georgetown, and boasts a couple of pawsome parks. One of the largest is the 47 acre Veasey Memorial Park, which is not only home to Johnson's Pond, a popular fishing area, but also to a vast network of trails that will take you and Fido through the park. The trails here are quite long, but if Fido would prefer a shorter walk, head on over to Meadow Pond. This scenic park boasts a picturesque pond, as well as several short hiking trails, each one under a mile in length. Make sure to bring a dog lead, doggie bags and drinking water with you.

West Newbury
The West Newbury neighborhood of West Newbury is next to Georgetown, and offers up some pawtastic dog walks. Some of the best can be found at the Mill Pond Recreation Area, where you will find numerous hiking trails to follow. For pups who enjoy swimming, there is a designated section of Mill Pond where dogs and horses are allowed to wade in the water. Also in this neighborhood is the Withers Conservation Area, which stretches out for 24 acres. This is where you will find the Artichoke Trail, which will lead you past the sparkling Artichoke Reservoir before taking you around a mature forest.

Newburyport Turnpike
Less than a mile from Georgetown is the Rowley neighborhood of Newburyport Turnpike, and if your pooch enjoys long walks, this is the place to go. This is where the William Forward Wildlife Management Area is located, which consists of 1869 acres of spectacular natural beauty. There are multiple trails here for you and Fido to explore, and these total just under five miles in length, with most of them connecting up with each other, making it easy to see the entire park. Since this land is being conserved for the animal and plant life living here, it is important that you keep your pooch on a lead at all times.

Topsfield
The Topsfield neighborhood of Topsfield is less than a mile from Georgetown, and is home to some green areas that your pup will no doubt love. The largest is the Haverhill Road Conservation Area, which features a network of easy trail systems on quite gentle terrain, making this area pawfect for a leisurely stroll with Fido. Not too far away from here is Pye Brook Park, which contains a number of different sports facilities, along with picnic areas. There are paved walking paths here that encircle the athletic fields, while also meandering through a small patch of woodland. Don't forget to bring a lead, doggie bags and drinking water with you.

Middleton
Less than a mile away from Georgetown is the Boxford neighborhood of Middleton, and there is plenty to keep you and your pooch busy here. This is where you will find the Boxford State Forest, featuring over 1000 acres of dense forest. There are several different trails here, ranging from a 45 minute walk to a four hour hike, so make sure you come prepared with plenty of drinking water for you and your pup. There is so much natural beauty within these grounds, and a huge diversity of native plants and animals, with many state-endangered species having been documented here.
