Does your dog love splashing in the ocean? Then grab her towel and head over to Rexhame Beach for some fun in the sun. While most beaches in the area have canine restrictions, this one does not! Since leashed pups are welcome all year round, you get to enjoy a day at the beach without having to leave your furry BFF home. She’ll have a blast wading in the water and digging in the sand. There are some rocky patches, so make sure your pal’s paws stay safe. Be sure to explore the trails that run through the surrounding sand dunes.

Brant Rock

Brant Rock

Treat your dog to an afternoon at Brant Rock Beach. Like other Marshfield beaches, leashed dogs can enjoy the surf all year long. Stroll along the beach for some exercise before letting your four legged friend romp around in the water. She will love splashing around and chasing the waves. This unique beach has a sandy section and a rocky area. If you want to avoid getting a sand pile in your car or in her fur, guide her over to the stone jetty. Relax on a blanket with a picnic and, of course, a few biscuits for your pooch. No doubt about it, this beach will make your pup’s tail wag!

Looking for a new place to walk your dog? Phillips Farm Preserve is a pawsome spot to let your pal stretch his four legs. Stroll through quiet forests of maples and pines while listening to the nearby stream. This area is home to many little creatures, so don’t be surprised if you see butterflies and birds. The trail is not very long, but there are connecting paths that lead to the surrounding natural areas. If you have an energetic pooch, follow the side trails to Nelson Memorial Forest or Cornhill Woodland for some additional mileage. Don’t forget to bring some water for your four legged walking buddy.

If your pup is begging for a walk, head over to Hoyt-Hall Preserve. With over 100 acres to explore, this preserve gives your furry friend plenty of room to get some exercise. Not only will she get her heart rate going, she’ll also experience a wide variety of terrain. A network of trails runs through marshes, forested wetlands, and an upland forest. Since the preserve is home to amphibians, deer, coyote, and rabbits, chances are you’ll catch a glimpse of some wildlife. For some added history, take the Pilgrim Trail, a road dating back to the Plymouth Colony. That’s woofin’ old!

Two Mile Farm

Two Mile Farm

Two Mile Farm Trail is tucked away on the west side of Marshfield. The trail runs near a farm that used to collect salt hay from the river. Leash up your pup and follow the old farm cart path through a forest of white pines toward the marsh. Your pal will love the view of the open grassy meadows as you head towards North River. The trail is about a mile long, perfect for an afternoon stroll. But if your pup needs more exercise, hop over to Stetson Meadows. A network of trails weaves in and around this gorgeous conservation area.
