Park Ave
If you’re looking for a good spot to take your pup for an on-leash walk, check out Whitman Park. This park was first opened all the way back in 1880, and it’s on the National Register of Historic Places. You can take your pup for leisurely strolls on the park’s paved pathways, which go through woodland areas and past beautiful little ponds. You and your pup can also go for walks on the park’s open fields. After your walk, sit at one of the park’s pondside benches and enjoy the peaceful view. Looking for a good spot where your pup can play off-leash? Check out Randolph Dog Park, which is about 10 miles from Whitman. This dog park offers separate areas for big and small dogs to play in. Both areas are shady and have plenty of space for your dog to run and play. The large dog area also has obstacles for your dog to play on, including tunnels to run through and stairs and boulders to climb. If your pup gets thirsty, there’s a spigot you can use to fill their water bowl. Your dog will love spending the day in this fun-filled park.

North Weymouth
If you’re searching for a good place to go for an off-leash hike with your pup, check out Stodder’s Neck. This park is about 14 miles from Whitman, and it has numerous trails to explore with your dog. These trails go through the woods and by Weymouth Back River, providing great views the whole way through. There are also plenty of grassy fields where your pup can run as much as they’d like. If you want to cool off after your hike, you and your pup can go swimming in the river. There are also plenty of water fountains you can use to fill your dog’s bowl, and there are doggy bag stations throughout the park.

When your pup is all finished playing, head over to Moonshine 152 for a tasty post-park meal.
