Proud animal lover and dog mom of two chihuahuas! I’ve walked all kinds of dogs with the Humane Society for two years, and I’ve taken two dog training and intelligence courses. I’m currently studying in Connecticut, but I am staying in my hometown- where I’ve grown up for most of my life- for the summer. I’ve just started working with Wag! but I am committed to providing the best possible service!

Lebanon is nestled among the vast forests of York County. This small community includes several lakes and ponds, and sits right on the New Hampshire border. It was first incorporated in 1767 and the original residents were very industrious. Hay was farmed as the chief crop, and the Salmon Falls River and the Little River provided sites for various types of mills. Today, locals love adventure so much that Skydive New England made Lebanon Airport its home.
Lebanon is home to several dog friendly campgrounds, so if your pup likes spending time in the woods, make a reservation at one these spots for a nice weekend getaway. Lazy Frog Campground is a family owned campground that is nestled among mature trees. Flat Rock Bridge Family Resort also welcomes well behaved leashed pets. Join in on the day time activities, then relax around the campfire when the sun goes down.
When in Lebanon, a hike to Gully Oven is a must. Grab your pup and follow the trail to see this natural wonder. Hike down into a gully that was carved out by glacial melt to see sheer cliffs and a natural amphitheater. Legends and folklore add to the mystery of this place. One thing is for sure, your pooch will love hiking in such a beautiful setting.
Salmon Falls River RV Resort is a pet friendly resort in the south part of Lebanon. Located right on the Salmon Falls River, this resort features spacious campsites for trailers and campers. Two legged guests will love the large swimming pool, playground, arcade and bike trails. The four legged guests will be more excited about the walking trails and river access. When the temperature soars, pups can splash around in the river to cool off. Although dogs must be leashed when not in their trailer, they can let loose in the resort’s off leash dog park. There’s plenty of room for romping and playing. Sounds puptastic!
If you need a break from every day life, escape to Potter’s Place. This beautiful campground is located on a tree farm that spreads across 150 acres. This is an adult only campground, no two legged children are allowed. Fur-tunately, fur babies are welcome. Two pets are allowed per site, and they must be leashed when walking around the grounds. There is also an off leash area next to the seven acre pond, so make sure your pup gets some time to romp and play. During your stay, be sure to check out the arboretum and perennial gardens. There are also nature trails that weave through the surrounding forest.
Moose Mountains Reservation is located in Middleton, New Hampshire. Only a 15 mile drive from Lebanon, this densely forested reservation has a network of trails just waiting for you and your four legged hiking buddy. Your pup can get in touch with his primitive roots while exploring the woods. Check out the 2.8 mile Old Burrows and Farm and Phoebe’s Nable. Or follow Piper Mountain Trail. It’s a moderate hike that runs 3.8 miles. Bring enough water and keep your eyes open for wildlife, as black bear, moose, porcupines, and coyotes all call this place home.
If you have an adventure loving pooch, fill your backpack with snacks and water and head over to Ellis R. Hatch Jr. Wildlife Management Area. It’s about 15 miles northwest of Lebanon in Brookfield, New Hampshire. With over 1,400 acres of rugged terrain, this natural area is a pawsome spot for hiking and communing with nature. Wander through forests of hemlock and pine while taking in the scenery of the surrounding peaks. You can either bushwack up to the ridgelines, or follow trails to Jones Pond or Mountain Lake. Either way, your dog will have a puptastic time!
Just 15 miles south of Lebanon is Vaughan Woods State Park. Located in South Berwick, this 165 acre state park sits right on the Salmon Falls River. Clip on your pup’s leash and meander through pine and hemlock trees. He’ll love feeling the dirt beneath his paws. Several small trails are available, but if you have an energetic pooch, you can follow the entire three mile loop. You’ll hike past streams and over rolling hills. Picnic areas are available, so bring a sandwich and a treat for your pooch. Hang out and soak in the beautiful scenery before calling it a day.
