Vermillion Park

Vermillion Park

Despite its proximity to downtown Farmington, the Rambling River Park is a pawrific place to temporarily get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Hard surface trails will take you and your pup around the park, through wooded areas, and along the Vermillion River, allowing you to enjoy a beautiful day in nature without leaving the city. There are several spots to share a packed lunch with your furry buddy, whether on the grass or at one of the eight picnic tables under the picnic shelter. This 60-acre park also houses a castle-themed playground, veterans memorial, and tennis courts.

Charleswood

Charleswood

Here in this peaceful, residential neighborhood, you'll find Meadowview Park nestled among the rows and rows of houses. Charleswood residents love their neck of the woods for being safe and walkable, and Meadowview Park is no exception. This 50-acre park features paved trails that will lead you and Fido past a picnic shelter, playground, and athletic fields and courts. There's also a boardwalk meandering through a natural area, so expect to do quite a bit of walking with your pooch. If you need to rest your feet and paws, take a break at the park benches or picnic shelter, all located near the playground.

Riverbend

Riverbend

Situated in the northern part of Farmington, the North Creek Park is a great place to spend a lovely afternoon with the entire family, including four-legged members. The North Creek Park offers a play area for kids, basketball court, and seasonal outdoor ice rink. Active doggos will love the paved trails that wind throughout the site, but note that shade is limited so prepare accordingly. Furtunately, there is a pooch-friendly swimming hole where your pup can cool off. In the future, the North Creek Park will be one of the destinations along the North Creek Greenway, so that's another feature to look forward to!

If going on a nature walk with your pup sounds good, head to the nearby Jim Bell Park and Preserve. Named after Farmington's first parks and recreation director, this 135-acre, mostly undeveloped site is pawfect for wandering around in the woods with your doggo.
