The community is close to so many other municipalities within St. Louis County that offer anything that a person with a pup can need or want. There is one veterinary clinic in Affton, but within ten miles in any direction there are no less than fifty. There are two parks in Affton, but there are dozens within a fifteen-minute drive, so you'll have plenty of options to explore.

People with their pups can visit the two parks in Affton. Matilda Park and Ohlendorf Park both offer some green spaces and picnic sites for leashed dogs and their owners to enjoy. For big events, pavilions may be rented. If all that playing gave you and Fido growling bellies, Mr. Wizard Frozen Custard is the pawfect place to get a sweet treat after spending a hot summer day visiting one of Affton's parks. This tasty stop has some outdoor tables to make you and your pup comfortable. 

The very pawpular Grant’s Trail has portions which run through Affton.  This 8.25-mile paved trail cuts through several municipalities. It is used by bicyclists, hikers, and people walking with their favorite furry companions.

    St. Louis Hills adjoins Affton on its north side. Southwest City Dog Park at Willmore Park has an acre of ground for some tail waggin’ fun. Lush green grass has dogs rolling and running leash-free. Small dogs have their own spot for safe fun, too. Summer sun is no problem here, with kiddie pools for some doggone good doggie dives! The human companions have a few comfy shaded benches from which to watch their pal play.  No problem with clean-ups at this dog park, since doggie waste bags make it super easy. You'll need to get a membership to play at this pawesome park, though.

    Sunset Hills is just three miles south of Affton. Kitun Dog Park has over an acre of pooch playground for your four-legged friend. Small dogs have their separate space, too. Agility equipment and lots of soft green grass will make your furry friend a happy hound! This park has all the niceties of home -- water, waste baggies, and no leash to slow a dog down. A pup’s person can sit on the shaded bench, and maybe even get a great pic of a satisfied pup at play. Kitun operates sunrise to sunset. It is a membership-only dog park. Registration and fees are paid to Sunset Hills.

    Kirkwood is six miles southwest of Affton. Treecourt Unleashed Adventure Park is a private club that has eight acres of leash-free paradise! This dog park has a beautiful natural space for dogs to socialize and play with no leash to spoil the day. The small dogs have their own spot, too. Treecourt has some agility equipment for training or exercise. A babbling creek gives pups a place to wet their paws on a hot summer day. The person can sit or take a walk about under a blue sky and shade trees. Dogs must pass the temperament test before being admitted to the pack.

    University City is eight miles north of Affton. The University City Off Leash Dog Park makes pups wriggle with delight as they run and play leash-free. This dog park has some grass, trees, and some fun-lovin’ furry pals. A separate fenced enclosure gives the small pups their own place to frolic. There is always a crowd waiting to get into the kiddie pools on that hot July day. The pup’s person can park it on one of the chairs. Forgot a water bottle? No worries! The dog park has you covered. You'll need to bring some waste bags ,though. This dog park is a members-only dog park. Registration and fee must be paid to University City.

    Arnold, located eleven miles south of Affton, is one of the few towns in the vicinity which offers free, public dog parks that don't require a membership. The Paw Parks are located in the City Park and the Ferd B. Lang Park. Dogs come from miles around to enjoy these one-acre Paw Parks. They are fully enclosed, and a have safe haven for small dogs, too. These paw parks have pawfect natural terrain, lush carpets of green grass, trees that provide a canopy of shade and crisp leaves in fall. Water is available for both person and pup, and waste baggies are supplied. The Paw Parks are open from dawn to dusk.
