Dog Areas in Gray Summit

1 Groomer

The community of Gray Summit is a small, mostly rural one just outside of the Metropolitan St. Louis area. No veterinarians practice in town, but folks with pups will have only a short drive to neighboring towns like Pacific, or into southwestern St. Louis County.

Gray Summit does have dogs at the center of its existence, though! It is home to Purina Farms, a tourist and event site hosted by the pet food giant. Purina Farms includes a large Event Center which hosts dog shows and dog competitions of every kind imaginable! In the winter months, people with dogs can pay a small fee and use the facility for training.

The rest of Purina Farms opens up in mid-March and provides a free and fun visit and learning experience about dogs, cats, and farm animals. The attraction features a Visitor Center and a variety of animal-related attractions. The Barn has cows, pigs, and other barnyard animals. Families enjoy petting some of the animals, and learning how to milk a cow is a popular exhibit! Dogs show off some of their obedience and tricks in scheduled shows for the visitors. People may bring their leashed dogs through most of Purina Farms. Some restrictions are posted for the safety of the other animals living there.

Gray Summit, though small, is a place most people with pups will want to visit!
