Dog Areas in Huntleigh

The beautiful little enclave of Huntleigh sits on a stretch of Lindbergh/Kirkwood Road. There are no businesses in Huntleigh, and no veterinarians (other than perhaps one or two that may occupy one of those houses). Huntleigh is on the way to many other places. Plaza Frontenac is a stone’s throw from Huntleigh, as is the St. Louis County Library headquarters, and one of very few authentic German restaurants, Schneithorst’s. Scheithorst’s features an outdoor patio area that will seat you and your dog in fine Bavarian style.

There are no dedicated park areas in Huntleigh -- it is just too small. Just outside its city limits, though, are all the magnificent green spaces set aside by its neighbor, Kirkwood. Avery Park is just outside the city limits of Huntleigh, and is Huntleigh’s closest public park. Avery is one of the many parks maintained by the City of Kirkwood. Avery features a pavilion, a playground, and a paved walking path for a person and a leashed dog to explore together.

Hunter Park is just west of Huntleigh. Hunter Park has a nice older playground, a picnic site, and a walking path complete with a doggie waste station. Hunter Park is maintained by another small St. Louis County municipality, Crystal Lake Park.

While Huntleigh doesn't have any dog-friendly amenities of its own, you'll find plenty of things to do with your dog just minutes outside of town.
