Make your way through town to South Croatan Highway, and your stomach is sure to thank you, and so will Fido’s rumbly tummy! Here, you’ll find Pigman’s Bar-B-Que, a delicious barbecue restaurant that serves a wide selection of meats cooked in the usual barbecue style -- with a unique spin here and there! They make their own delicious sauces, and for seafood lovers, they offer their signature tuna-cue: yellowfin tuna served with a dash of their delectable sauce. Your precious pup is welcome to join you at any of the outdoor tables, but be sure to bring plenty of fresh water.

North Croatan Highway

After you’ve scoped out the food scene in Kill Devil Hills, your pup will be very excited to stop into a shop dedicated just to them. At Holistic Pet Shop, located in North Croatan Highway, you’ll find a selection of dog food, delicious treats, as well as beds and leashes. Your diva doggy will be walking in style, as well as enjoying a properly formulated treat for their little body. Just be sure to keep your doggy on their leash, or carry them in the store. Let your pup pick out their own wardrobe -- how can that possibly go wrong?

East Soundside Road

If you’re willing to step out of the local area a bit, just make your way towards Nag’s Head, a small coastal town not far from Kill Devil Hills. You and your pup will have a great time walking along the beach all year round. Although your dog will need to remain leashed, the leash only has to be under ten feet, giving your doggy plenty of room to get their paws wet. Just be prepared to clean up after them, and you’re sure to have a ball -- it’s just a matter of whether it’s a cannonball or tennis ball!

South Virginia Dare Trail

Everyone loves a good slice of pizza, be they man or beast. If you’re looking to get a delicious sampling of some of the best pizza in the state, make your way to South Virginia Dare Trail, where you’ll find American Pie Pizza and Ice Cream. With a shaded outdoor deck for you to settle in with your pup pal, get yourself a nice pepperoni pizza. Too bad they don’t have pupperoni pizza! Bring plenty of drinking water for your doggy, and remember, no matter how much Fido begs with those puppy dog eyes, too much pizza is bad for his tummy!

Fonck Street

Finally, make your way a bit further down to Kitty Hawk, another beautiful coastal city in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. If you’d rather let your dog have a bit of off-leash fun, and as long as they’re stellar at following voice commands, you’ll want to stop at Kitty Hawk Beach. Though you will have to keep a leash on you at all times, you're free to let Fido loose as long as your precious puppy doesn’t bother the other beach inhabitants. They’ll go dog wild splashing around in those cool ocean waves; just be sure to bring some doggy waste bags.
