If you love shopping and want to bring your pup along for the fun, you can head to the Common Man Country Store in Ashland. This is a pawsome place where you can shop for clothes, gifts and food, as well as puptastic home décor and seasonable items. What’s more, your pup is always welcome, as long as they remain on their leash. Now you don’t have to leave your dog at home or tied up outside; they can come in and enjoy the new surroundings too. Don’t forget to try some of the Common Man’s home-made fudge that everyone raves about! In addition, pooches are welcome in the Common Man restaurant. Here you can sit with your pup at one of the outdoor tables and enjoy some tasty dishes, such as the crab cake that have been voted the best in the state for five years running!

To go on an adventure with your pup, head four miles northeast from Ashland to the puptown of Holderness. Here you will find the puptastic, Experience Squam Private Boating Excursions! This is a great oppawtunity to see the beautiful Squam Lakes and bring your furry friend along for the ride. Your pup is sure to love the fresh air while you enjoy a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. In addition, you can even request for Pat, the owner’s dog, to join you on your private boating excursion; what a pawsome day out for the whole family!

Plymouth
If you drive for only 6.5 miles north of Ashland, you will reach the town of Plymouth in Grafton County. Here you can enjoy some pawsome hiking with your pup through the woods at Fox Park. This park has switch back trails you can explore with your furry friend, with lots of new scents and sights to investigate. Since mountain bikers can use these trails, it is recommended that you keep your pooch on leash here at Fox Park. This will ensure everyone has a puptastic day out together! Be sure to bring some water and treats to keep you and your pup’s energy high.

Meredith Center
For a fun vacation with your pup, drive for 8.5 miles southeast of Ashland to Meredith. Here you will find the Meredith Woods Camping Area. This is a pawsome place in the Lakes Region and has fun for the whole family, including your furry friend! Best of all, the camping grounds feature their very own dog park! Here, you can exercise your pooch and expend some energy, and the park is all fenced in with grass for safe play. In addition, there is a games and TV room, as well as a general store with RV supplies. This puptastic place has everything you need for a few days in nature!
Lake Waukewan
If you are looking for some dog friendly restaurants where you can bring your pup for a bite to eat, you will find some pawsome places southeast of Ashland. Only 10 miles away, you will reach Meredith, where you can drop by for some delicious food. This include the Frog Rock Tavern, which serves up some tasty dishes, such as meatloaf sandwiches, burgers and mac and cheese. Since it is a pub, you can also grab a beer or another refreshing beverage. While you eat, your furry friend can join you at one of the outdoor tables to watch the world go by.
