Grab Fido's things and favorite treats for a fun afternoon at Haven Pond Park. Play some fetch on the open fields and have a picnic by the pond. This 13-acre neighborhood park also houses a playground and trails. If you feel like going for a longer walk, head to the Monmouth Junction Freedom Trail, which is less than half a mile from Haven Pond Park. Following the abandoned rail line from New Rd to Stouts Ln, this trail is part of the ongoing Freedom Trail Bikeway project, which will eventually connect parks and open spaces throughout South Brunswick. As always, keep Fido leashed and clean up after him.

Sondek Park is a woofderful spot to bring the entire family, and that of course includes four-legged members. Spanning 111 acres, Sondek is a major park complex that includes multiple sports fields, playgrounds, a brush recycling area, and a picnic pavilion. But the features that your pooch will appreciate the most would be the paved walking paths, open field area, nature trails, and woods. Throw a Frisbee on the open field, or clip on your dog's leash and start exploring—there's plenty for Fido to see and sniff. After you and your pup have gotten some exercise, duck under the picnic pavilion to take a break.
