The peaceful borough of Sea Girt is located right by the Atlantic Ocean, boasting spectacular waterfront views from all over town. With sandy beaches, grassy parks, dog-friendly restaurants and a highly rated animal hospital, this laid-back town will no doubt charm both you and your pooch.
Sea Girt is home to a couple of pawtastic parks, with one of the most popular being Edgemere Park. This large park is so beautifully landscaped, making it a great spot for a picnic or a scenic stroll on its paved path. Crescent Park is also worth a visit, with its playground, tennis courts, paved walking path, and picnic benches.
If your pooch prefers beaches to parks, the beaches of Sea Girt are open to dogs from September to March. These sandy stretches are always fun to play in, but remember that you will still need to keep your pooch on a lead at all times.

Directly adjacent to Sea Girt is Spring Lake, and there are a couple of parks here that your pooch will love. The largest is Divine Park, which features the 16 acre freshwater Spring Lake at the center of it. Thanks to the lake, there are so many species of plant and animal life that live here, from white oak and sugar maple trees to the Canadian goose and the great blue heron. If your pooch would prefer a shorter walk, Potter Park is smaller, and contains a playground, picnic benches, a gazebo and a paved path.
Right next to Sea Girt is the Brielle Rd/ 1st Ave neighborhoodin Manasquan, which boasts plenty of natural beauty. The best place to soak this all up is at the Fisherman's Cove Conservation Area, a large park on the waterfront, with several fishing access points available. The walking path here follows along the water's edge, offering up scenic views the entire way. Also in this neighborhood is Mallard Park, where you will find a few sports facilities, a playground, picnic tables and water fountains. Dogs are allowed at both of these parks, but will need to be kept on a lead at all times.
Just over a mile from Sea Girt is Wall Township. There is a spacious passive park at the center of this neighborhood, known as the Open Space Wall Acq, with several patches of woodland for your pooch to sniff around in. Once the two of you have walked up an appetite, make your way over to Mossuto's Market. This dog-friendly restaurant serves up American classics, and is also known for their highly indulgent desserts. If you and Fido need somewhere nearby to spend the night, the Economy Inn allows dogs of any size in their guest rooms for a small extra fee.
About two miles from Sea Girt is Point Pleasant Beach, which is home to the Gull Island County Park and Conservation Area. Thanks to the bodies of water that surround it on all sides, this is a popular spot for fishing, and is also home to a few short hiking trails. If you would like to make the most of your waterfront location, treat Fido to some fresh seafood at one of the local dog-friendly restaurants. The Point Lobster Co is a fish market as well as a restaurant, with plenty of outdoor seating, while Red's Lobster Pot is known for their raw bar and their large seafood platters.
Just over three miles from Sea Girt is Allenwood, which features a few different activities you can enjoy with your pup. The first is a walk around the Robert L. Brice Memorial Park, which this neighborhood provides access to. With its playground, picnic areas and walking path, this is a scenic spot to spend a bit of time. If your pooch would prefer a longer walk, you will find a section of the Edgar Felix Memorial Bikeway in this neighborhood. This trail stretches out for 5.2 miles, showcasing everything from dense woodlands to historic buildings.
