Fresh Meadows
In the neighborhood of Fresh Meadows, you and Fido will find streets lined with single-family homes. You can take a stroll along the sidewalk in this area. If you'd like to walk among trees and green space with your special pal, head over to Vanderbilt Parkway. This three-mile multi-use trail goes through a greenway between 199th Street and Francis Lewis Boulevard before heading east into the park. Walk or jog with your pup on the pathway. Keep your furry friend on a leash that's no longer than six feet and make way for bicycles. Licensed and vaccinated dogs may join you here, provided you clean up their waste.36

Oak Grove
Oak Grove, in the northern half of Fresh Meadows, is a lovely neighborhood with apartment buildings and condos. There's plenty of landscaped lawn and trails in the area where you and Fido can go for a little walk. While you're out, spend some time in Oak Grove, located in the center of 64th Circle. This pocket park has shade trees and lawn space with some benches. You and your pooch can enjoy a little picnic together here. Dogs on a leash up to six feet long are welcome to accompany you as long as they're licensed and current on vaccinations. Make sure you bring waste bags with you.24

Utopia
Utopia borders Fresh Meadows on the west side. This residential neighborhood includes some public schools and playground areas. You can walk your canine companion down the sidewalks in this area. For some green space, go just over one mile northeast to Kissena Corridor Park on Underhill Avenue. This linear facility has lawn areas and a paved walking trail where you and your four-footed pal can walk or jog together. Dogs can come here as long as you keep them on a leash that's no longer than six feet and you clean up after them. Make sure your pup is licensed and up-to-date on rabies shots.12

Cunningham Park
The residential neighborhood around Cunningham Park, located to the south of Fresh Meadows, consists of tree-lined streets. This is a lovely area to go strolling with your special pal. You can also take your pooch to the Cunningham Park Dog Run that's located on 193rd Street between Aberdeen and Radnor Roads. Let your furry friend play off-leash with other canines here. Dogs need to be licensed and up to date on rabies shots to visit this facility. If you prefer one-on-one time, leash up your four-footed pal and hike along the trails in the rest of the park. Remember to bring bags to pick up any waste.
