Ostrander
Blues Creek Park is located 9627 Fontanelle Road. This county park of 138 acres has large grassy areas, a playground, and trails through the wildflowers and forests. Dogs are allowed in the outdoor areas of the park as long as they are on leash. Dogwood Training Center is located at 8658 Slocum Road. Dogwood trains dogs for agility competitions. Also, dogs can learn how to play flyball or do herding. Dogs can be registered for classes according to age and stage of learning a skill. In agility training, dogs can progress from introduction to master competitor. Dogwood teaches individual dogs how to play flyball, and Dogwood is trying to form a team for the sport.

Delaware
Delaware is 7 miles east of Ostrander. Delaware is a small town that is big on dog activities. Dogs may play at Mutt’s Paradise Amusemutt Park, located at 1277 Hills-Miller Rd. This is a privately-owned dog park. Dogs may reserve a time slot for their chance to play off-leash. The dogs can even swim while at Mutt’s Paradise. Delaware City Dog Park is a free public dog park. The city park is located at 840 Mill Run Crossing. The city park has a separate area for small dogs. Delaware Dog Park has a water fountain for people and dogs. Waste bags are provided. Human companions have plenty of benches.

Dublin
Dublin is 17 miles south of Ostrander. Nando’s Dog Park at Darree Fields Park is located at Cosgray Road and Rings Road. Dog play off-leash in this fully fenced, grassy field. Smaller dogs have their own separate area. Water is available during the warm months. Human companions can sit on benches or picnic tables. Dublin offers travelers with dogs places to stay. La Quinta Inn, located 6145 Parkcenter Circle, welcomes two dogs of any size for no additional charge. Homewood Suites, located at 5300 Parkcenter Avenue, allows two dogs up to 100 pounds for an additional charge of $100 per stay.

Westerville
Westerville is 29 miles south of Ostrander. Brooksedge Dog Park is located at 708 Park Meadow Road. This dog park has three separate fenced areas. One area is designated for large dogs, one for small, and a third is a mixed common area. There is a watering station for the dogs. Dogs have some large pieces of agility equipment to climb on. Uptown Deli & Brew at 41 N State Street might be the place to stop and eat after going to the dog park. This restaurant serves a variety of sandwiches and salads with craft beer. Dogs are welcome to stay and dine in the rear patio. Service includes a water bowl for a thirsty pup.
Gahanna
Gahanna is located 36 miles south of Ostrander. Pooch Playground is a dog park located in Pizzurro Park. Pooch Playground invites dogs to socialize and play in its completely fenced park. Small dogs have their own separate space. Each area is supplied with pieces of agility equipment. Water is available during the warm months. A paved walkway around the dog park give people a chance to exercise with their dog on leash. Gresso’s located on 981 S High Street serves sandwiches, entrees and drinks on its dog-friendly patio. Gresso’s is the place for a late night snack. It opens for lunch and doesn’t close shop until 2 a.m.
