Get out of town and head north about 20 miles to Quartz Mountain State Park. There are hiking trails, a lake, tent sites, and RV hookups in this 4,284-acre property. Your four-footed friend can come with you if he's restrained on a leash up to ten feet long.
If you're looking for some open field to play ball or to run obedience drills with Fido, take him to Quail Run Park. This undeveloped facility is north of the reservoir off East Tamarack Road. You'll need to bring your own water and bags to clean up any droppings.
