Leash your pup and check out some woofderful parks in Comanche’s namesake neighborhood! Kinder Park has plenty of open grassy space for a walk or playtime with your furry friend. There are also lots of trees and shrubs that line the perimeter of the park, so there’s plenty of things to sniff! Two-legged children love Kinder Park, too! There is a playground, basketball court and a splash pad, which is especially pawpular in warmer months. Pack a picnic and grab a cool spot in the shade of one of the covered picnic tables! This neighborhood is also home to Jackson Park!

If you and your four-legged friend are craving a puptacular walk, head to Duncan’s Whisenant Park neighborhood, about nine miles from Comanche! This area’s namesake park is a pawpular spot for dog walking – just one trip there, and you’ll see why! The large, beautiful park has a paved path that winds through lush grass and shady trees. There are also benches along the way in case you and Fido want to take a breather. Whisenant Park also has a picnic area and a playground where kiddies can burn off some energy, too! After everyone is worn out, spread out a blanket underneath one of the big trees and enjoy some relaxation at this peaceful park.

11th and Pine Street
Looking for a peaceful green space? Head to Duncan’s 11th and Pine Street neighborhood! Just nine miles from Comanche, this neighborhood is home to Fuqua Park, a pawsome spot to visit with your leashed dog. You and your pup can stretch your legs with a walk through the grass and beneath the large trees. After your jaunt, find a bench near the park’s woofderful water garden that includes a koi pond and a babbling waterfall. The sound of the water brings a serene and peaceful feel to this community park – you and Fido are sure to leave feeling refreshed! Fuqua Park also has a picnic area, a playground, amusement rides for children, as well as railroad and oil derrick interpretive learning stations.

Just a couple blocks southeast, you and Fido will find Mighty Might Park! This neighborhood pocket park is a hidden gem, with picnic tables under big shade trees and a pawesome playground where two-legged kiddos can play, too!
