Just eight miles from the outskirts of southern Oklahoma City, Newcastle is a small town with deep roots. The town was first officially settled in 1894 when a post office opened, but before that, the area was home only to the Choctaw and Chickasaw peoples. In the event that your pup needs to see a veterinarian, there are four animal clinics in Newcastle to help your four-legged friend stay in the best shape possible!

Newcastle’s Lions Park is a woofderful place for a walk with your pup! At five acres, there’s plenty of space for you and your leashed dog to romp in the big grassy area or sniff around the plethora of large shady trees. Lions Park also has a playground, a picnic pavilion and a tennis court. 

Hungry? Head ten miles away to southern Oklahoma City, where you’ll find delicious sandwiches and gourmet baked potatoes at McAlister’s Deli. Leashed dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area.
