Central Newcastle
Check out the Central Newcastle neighborhood’s Leesa Cornett Park for a pawsome place to hang out with your leashed pup! This two-acre park has a large grassy play area where you and your furry friend can stretch your legs, plus a creek and woods just waiting to be explored! Your dog will have a blast sniffing out squirrels that scurry through the park. Bring a picnic and grab a spot at a table under one of the beautiful mature trees. Kiddos will love this park too, as it has a playground, plus volleyball courts. Leesa Cornett Park also has a pavilion and restrooms.36

North Newcastle
Visit Newcastle’s largest park in the North Newcastle neighborhood! At 25 acres, Veterans Park offers lots of space for you and your leashed pooch to roam. There is a walking path where you and your pup can do some laps and work up a sweat, plus lots of grass. For kiddos, there’s a basketball court and a playground. Veterans Park also has picnic tables, athletic fields and restrooms. Nearby, you and your pup can also check out Puckett Park! Located next to the Newcastle Police Department, Puckett Park has two acres of lush grassy green lawn with a fountain, woofderful trees and picnic tables.24
