Bedford Drive
When you’re in this Nichols Hills neighborhood, you won’t want to miss Kite Park. This park allows dogs on-leash, and it has a paved path that winds through the whole park. As you go along this path, you’ll walk by a scenic gazebo, a playground, and open fields where you go for runs with your dog. Bring doggy bags and water with you, and have a good time walking here. If you want a pick-me-up after the park, head to All About Cha Café. Sit at one of their eight dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy coffee, tea, freshly baked desserts, and breakfast sandwiches.

Mayview
When you’re in Mayview, you won’t want to miss OKC PawPark. Located two miles from Nichols Hills, this park has two fenced areas: one for large dogs and one for small dogs. There’s also a small fenced pond where your pup can swim and splash around. If all this excitement makes your dog thirsty, water stations are available. After the park, continue your fun day out with lunch at Louie’s Grill & Bar. This casual restaurant welcomes dogs at their outdoor tables, and your server will bring your dog a bowl of water. While they enjoy their water, you can dine on burgers, wings, fish tacos, and more.

If you’re looking for a furrific place to spend the day with your dog, check out Myriad Botanical Garden. This beautiful garden is 10 miles from Nichols Hills, and it has a small off-leash dog area. This dog run includes one fenced area where dogs of all sizes can play together. Water is available inside the dog park. After your dog is finished playing, put their leash back on and take them for a stroll through Myriad Botanical Garden’s stunning grounds. As you walk through the grounds, you’ll see lovely sculptures, manicured gardens filled with native plants, and unique water features.

Horn Valley
Horn Valley is home to Route 66 Park, a pawsitively amazing place to take your dog for an on-leash stroll. Located 13 miles from Nichols Hills, this park has a 1.3-mile paved trail that goes along Lake Overholser. There’s also a beautiful observation tower you can climb up, and there are plenty of benches where you can relax and enjoy views of the lake. If you’d like to have a picnic with your dog, Route 66 Park also has some scenic picnic pavilions. Doggy bags are available throughout the park, but be sure to bring water with you. You and your dog will both love spending the day in this park!

Whispering Heights
Whispering Heights is a mostly residential neighborhood with a great off-leash area: Edmond Dog Park. This dog park is eight miles from Nichols Hills, and it has separate areas for large and small dogs to play in. The dog park is located right next to a pond where pups can go for swims, and a water fountain is available in the park. If all that playing in the park makes you and your dog hungry, head to City Bites. This deli allows dogs at their outdoor tables, and they serve delicious hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, tacos, and stuffed baked potatoes.
