This city originally had a different name when it was considered a town site in April of 1898. Its original name was Glaze, Oklahoma. Then, after the railroad came through, it was renamed Jones, Oklahoma. This name was given to the town by Luther Aldrich, who named it after his business partner and friend, Charles Jones. Charles Jones went on to become the mayor of Oklahoma City for three terms!

This off-leash dog park is a great place for your pooch to run around. If you are outside of the dog park, your pup must be on their leash. Seating and shade trees are available for pets and owners. The surface is turf covered and there are plenty of hills to tire out your best fur-iend. Keep in mind water for you pal and also bring doggy waste bags for clean-up. The park offers trash receptacles but no waste bags. You and your pooch will love this furrific nature-filled park!
