North Lake Road
About five miles north of central Chandler is North Lake Road, which will lead you and your pup right to Bell Cow Lake, one of Chandler’s best attractions. As far as outdoor recreation goes, you won’t have to go any further than this lake and its surrounding park that’s set on over 2,000 acres of land. The dog-friendly area features campsites, picnic pavilions, sporting courts, a swimming beach, boat docks, and more. The nearby Chandler Lake is another pupular spot for fishing, boating, and even some duck hunting. Your outdoor-loving dog will be begging to head to this area often!

Arcadia Lake
Another excellent area for families with dogs to visit is the Arcadia Lake area of Edmond, Oklahoma. This massive lake is just over 38 miles from Chandler and features over 20 miles of beautiful shoreline for you and your pup to enjoy. With boating, fishing, water skiing, golfing, and other outdoor recreational activities to do, this is one pawfect spot for you to have fun and your dog to get some exercise and fresh air. The next-door Spring Creek Park has some fun in store, too, with some dog-friendly hiking trails, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, and swimming areas on the lake.

Whispering Heights
The Whispering Heights neighborhood of Edmond is almost 28 miles from Chandler. The mostly residential area also includes the Oklahoma Christian University and is right next door to South Broadway, which can take you to pupular shopping locations. Here, you and your pooch can visit the Edmond Dog Park, which has five acres of space for your dog to play off her leash with other doggie pals. One of the best features of this dog park is that your pup will even have an area that lets her splash in the lake on hot summer days! The neighborhood is within a few minutes’ drive of dog-friendly restaurants to satisfy some hungry bellies after a day of fun in the sun.

Clegern
Clegern is just under 30 miles from Chandler. This residential Edmond neighborhood is home to the University of Central Oklahoma and several small parks. It’s also one of the best places in Edmond to get a dog-friendly meal with your favorite four-legged friend! The Patriarch is one of the most pupular places to go with your dog, thanks to its huge outdoor patio that welcomes furry friends. Head there on a weekend and you can even enjoy some live music. If you’re looking for a great place for some burgers, try Flat Tire Burgers, which also has several outdoor tables that welcome your dog.
Lakehurst
In about 45 minutes, you can get to the incredible Oklahoma City from Chandler. The city has tons of dog-friendly restaurants and hotels which make it an excellent spot to stay for a couple of days with your furry friend in tow. The Lakehurst neighborhood sits right on the southeastern end of Lake Hefner. Your pooch will fall in love with Lakehurst’s PawPark, which has separate areas for large and small dogs (both are spacious!) and even has access to the water to encourage your pooch to cool off and have some fun. Head to Kamp’s 1910 Café for a quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner, with its dog-friendly seating area.
